I currently attend CBHS as a freshmen however my family has been attending for four years with our oldest graduating this year and our youngest starting next year. So if I do say so myself I have a very realistic view on CBHS, and that is, it’s amazing! The yearly academic averages for Casco are significantly higher than the other two public high schools in Portland. Also CBHS is nationally renowned as one of the pioneering schools in Expeditionary Learning. Aside from this the atmosphere of Casco is simply wonderful. The teachers are attentive and engaging and the community as a whole encourages friendships between the upper and lower class men. All in all it is a very friendly environment that encourages students to grow not only as learners but in personality as well.

Casco is not just a welcoming community, but also an open community.
Everyone is treated the same and has the right to be whoever they want.
Out of the three high schools in Maine, Casco would be the one that supports free speech the most.

Saying Casco doesn’t allow free speech is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in my life.
