This unaccredited Waldorf School and several of their teachers/leadership are totally ill-prepared to guide young lives at best and they’re utterly incompetent at worst. If you’re looking for a cult-like atmosphere where adults are “playing school,” this is definitely the place for you. However, if you’re looking for a school that sincerely cares about the whole child (“head, heart, and hands” as Azalea Mountain School claims), then look no further than your local Asheville/Buncombe County public school. Save your money, and most importantly, your child’s welfare and their precious future, by avoiding this Waldorf School imposter.
My daughter has been a student at AMS for a few years now, and we are very happy with the school. She loves her class, and her teachers, and really thrives in the nurturing environment that the school works hard to cultivate. I have nothing but great things to say about the faculty and administration, and feel that the school does a great job of bringing people together through school events and parent enrichment opportunities to help parents understand and connect to the deeper ideologies and practices of Waldorf education. I would recommend this school to any of my friends.
Dedicated teachers, great community. Both my children go to Azalea Mountain and they love it and are thriving. I appreciate the emphasis on experiential and arts based learning as well as
protecting childhood. It’s been a great place for our family.
