This school has amazing administrators & an outstanding principle. A good group of the teachers are well too but not all of them are. The school for one has bad scheduling, they always are off time when it comes to lunch. The lunch periods are also unequal when it comes to time. 1st lunch as about 35 minutes by schedule, then 25 for 2nd, & usually 20 minutes for the others. Just today they put us on lockdown & they rung a bell 4 minutes after the schedule says it will, without informing us the lockdown was over with. The bathrooms are disgusting, & often times there isn’t any soap. The doors are broken & some have been locked on the inside the whole year. Not school year. 2017. The students who go here are immature & disrespectful & also very prone to violence. Most anyways, some of the students are very smart actually but not a big enough group. The school honestly just needs better students, but it should really work on upkeep & scheduling. The place has a bug infestation as well, mostly various cockroaches & beetles. We waste our educational time as well. Yesterday on our PSAT’s we spent an hour doing nothing. They later sent us to 4th period which is much longer than our other periods with them having around 90 minutes each of educational time. They sent us to the period we’ve been in the most. I’m a 15 year old & I might not be as academically skilled as some but I know how to tell students when a lockdown is over, when lunchtime starts, & I can decipher which period we can go to when we only have time for one or two.
This is the school in rockdale county that is the best when it comes to all realms. We always get put to the last and get talked down. We set the standard when our test scores,most scholarships and we dont carry on bad behavior. We are a family at Salem. Just like any other schools we face problems but we adress them appropriately with our administration staff and other teachers. People who go to salem have good experiences. But the people on here say it sucks. It doesnt, they had their own experience wether good ir bad and its not right to talk about our school as trash. Our extracurricular activities are always on point it might not always fall our way for win or loses but we win and lose with class and we respect other teams when they enter our HOME and when we are away. Mrs. Bloodworth always says 4 p stands for polite, prompt, productive and professional. So if you are new to the Conyers Georgia area if you hear about salem ignore the negative and hear the positive with your ears and love with your heart. SHS Noles nation be blessed.
Salem high school is the best place i”ve ever been in my 14 years of life. I don’t understand why this school getting bad reviews. The counselors are great ESPECIALLY MRS.GREENE. Some of the teachers are great IF YOU EVER HAVE MRS.FORD DONT GET OUT OF THERE NOW. YOU WILL PASS. STAY IN MRS. FORD! Take my advice and STAY HERE. Have a blessed day.
