Sadly, my son attends this school and has attended the school for three school years. I thought he was attending here for a better opportunity, but unfortunately, all this school did was cover up the abuse on school grounds as well as forgery and fraud in school paperwork. School
Was provided 50-50 legal custody order, but blatantly ignored it and listened to stepmom who became their staff member. I have informed and advise them that I have multiple documents with her signature on them where Mine should be and of the verbal abuse and bullying on campus. I was advised to bring this up at an IEP meeting by the principal Cindy McCarthy, Which stepmom had signed him up without my permission, and when I did the alleged told me she spoke to my son in private about the horrible things she said. When I advised her that was not ok DR KELLY SIMON cut me off. I advised her clearly my self, the staff member and even my son were aware we were discussing this here not sure why I’m being cut off. She hung up on me and wrote in my son’s IEP that I was aggressive, which is completely untrue and inappropriate. I disagreed with these notes just like I have the right to and any parent has the right to, and she ignored my email for seven months in that time. I have done my research and have seen that there are multiple IEP proceedings without my consent. I brought this up to attention in the last few weeks, and I have been ignored belittled And they pretended they didn’t receive my emails. When I finally got a response, they started questioning my custody to which I advised I would be bringing to their school grounds the following day, but what will they do when they realize that I am still entitled to everything I’ve been asking for. Dr Kelly Simon proceeded to threaten me with police action if I show up with the custody order they’re asking for, after her staff member asked me for the custody orders and I said I would bring in. They are now refusing to give me the IEP meeting I requested and are refusing to amend all of the prior IEP reports in his record and anything that has a fraudulent signature where mine should be. It’s not even somebody trying to write my signature. It is a completely different name. My son has two months left of attending this horrible school and they are planning on just pushing us out instead of amending his record and giving him the rights he deserves.

Do not send your children to the school they will do everything they can to protect themselves and their staff.

The staff member who forged my son signature now has two businesses, one that was shut down for her abusive behavior that I had reported to this very school.
Please see conejo forest school
And kateri forest school.

I had to advise the school that my son was in a domestic violence situation And they had no grace, and in fact, shared information with the staff member that they knew was connected to the very case.

The bullying my son endured here is unfathomable and just like the old reviews nothing has been done.

The school is directing me to only request what I need through the same Dr. Kelly that will not answer my emails as well as the same principal Cindy McCarthy, that incorrectly advised me to bring up my issues at the IEp meetings.

My son is attending the school defenseless until next year Because the administrators don’t want to amend the forgery and fraud they allowed to take place in their system.

They will ruin your child’s school record and turn a blind eye.

Currently seeking legal advice , I have evidence dating to 2021, please feel free to contact me or contact me to share your expirience.

For my 3-5th grade experience of it’s grand opening, it has been a ton of fun. Made best friends, great memories, and had fantastic teachers. My only big concern for this school (although it’ll probably get better) is that Bridges isn’t part of CVUSD, which is a BIG problem going into 9th grade, because at, say Westlake, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Calabasas, or Agoura High School, they expect for you to already be in the system, and ready to go. Not Bridges, because since they have their own curriculum, it makes it much easier to graduate, but way harder to transition. Basically, Bridges Charter School (K-8) doesn’t prepare students very well for high school. I’d rather people transition to a nearby middle school that IS part of CVUSD, like Redwood Middle School, for example. The only reason I see realistic to stay with Bridges 6-8th grade is if a student is struggling at a normal intermediate middle school, and needs a bit easier classes and work to fall into. Great people, great staff, ridiculous classes.
We couldn’t be happier with Bridges. Our daughter was very shy and unsure about a school environment before Bridges. Now 7 months into kindergarten, she is thriving and is always excited to go to school! She told us the other day that she doesn’t learn anything at school. We questioned her and asked her how she learned to read, or do math, or about countless other things she’s learned. Bottom line is that she has so much fun with her experienced based learning that she doesn’t even feel like it’s “learning”, she feels like it’s playing and fun! She is now reading on her own, thriving in social environments, and has grown so much academically and personally. We are so thankful for Ms. Carmen and Bridges for all of the love and support they’ve poured into our girl.
