From my mom since she doesn’t have a Google account:

Three years ago, I was searching for a piano teacher for my granddaughter. I was looking for a teacher who would not only teach her piano, but more importantly someone who would inspire in her a love for the art and a desire to continue learning the craft, seeking to better her skill as time passes.

The first year of my search rendered fruitless. There was a music school that I thought would be good, but instead of my request for piano lessons, they wanted her to take voice instead. Needless to say, we did not enroll.

The following year, I tried searching again. I finally found a good music school with a good teacher. I believe a good teacher is one that recognizes that every student is different. In my mind the key to finding a good teacher is to find one who is able to see through the child’s personality and be able to reach into the child’s mind and motivate the child to want to learn.

Dr. Kim is all of what I had envisioned and wished for in a teacher for my granddaughter. It can be best described by Violet saying to us “would you like me to play it for you”. She has also developed a love for looking for piano lessons of songs that she likes and then learning them herself. This to me is the measure of what a successful learning is. And this was all possible through the patience and guidance of Dr. Kim. Not only does he provide a good learning experience, he also directs the students mind to think that learning music is fun. I take my hat off to you Dr. Kim!

P.S. Playing the piano is a tradition in my husband’s family that goes back generations. It is also a long lost dream of mine. Violet’s Nana also plays piano.

Ms. Karen is an amazing violin teacher who has made a world of difference for my daughter’s musical journey. For the past two years, she has been taking lessons with Ms. Karen, and her progress has been phenomenal.

Ms. Karen has a keen eye for detail and a fantastic ability to explain proper technique. She helped my daughter develop a strong foundation in music. This not only improved her playing accuracy but also built confidence in her abilities.

Beyond technical expertise, Ms. Karen fosters a love for music in her students. Her lessons are engaging and motivating, and she celebrates every accomplishment, big or small. This positive reinforcement has kept my kid excited to practice and constantly strive to improve.

In just two years, I’ve seen my child blossom into a confident young violinist. She is tackling more complex pieces with greater ease and is genuinely enjoying the process of learning music. If you’re looking for a wonderful violin teacher who can guide your child towards musical success, look no further than Ms. Karen. She is awesome!

My daughter has studied with Mr Pu for 4 years and we only wish we had found the academy sooner! She looks forward to her lessons, has gained confidence and tremendously improved her technique. The support and encouragement from Mr Pu and his faculty have been amazing. My daughter wants to be the best orchestral member she can be. He helps her find ensemble performance opportunities and continues to challenge her to tackle repertoire that will improve her technique and musicality. We cannot recommend the academy enough– we drive over an hour each way for her lessons and would never think of having her anywhere else. We would give more than 5 stars if we could!
