Amazing, amazing, amazing. My wife and I struggled to find a daycare for our first child that offered a foreign language and blessed we found Living the Language. We’ve spent time overseas and understand the benefits of a second language. Living the Language not only offers Spanish and French, but are very serious about their curriculum. Sandra the owner is amazing (speaks 6 languages) and employs amazing international and local teachers with master degrees in early childhood and education; and who love to work with children. We now have two children with Living the Language. Our three year old understands and translates French and Spanish for us non-speakers. He also reading and writing in multiple languages. Our two year understands and follows orders and speaks a little of both. I’ve had friends test our children since we aren’t fluent and they all have been impressed. Our children are thriving and we appreciate the diversity of the classroom and the camaraderie and communication with the teachers and other parents during the pandemic.
We started our daughter at LTL in the Moyen Nido room. She is now in the Grand Nido room and we have loved every day she has been at LTL. The staff and teachers love the kids as if they are family and provide wonderful support to the family as a whole. We love that the school is small and feels like a tight-knit community of parents and children that will create lasting friendships. The academic program at LTL is top-notch. Our daughter is fluent in Spanish and is becoming fluent in French as well. The teachers do a great job of integrating rigorous academics while having so much fun. We couldnt imagine a better gift to give a child than the gift of love and language. The school has done a tremendous job in handling the pandemic by continually having parent zoom meetings with doctors and social workers present to provide support and answer questions on safety. The teachers have also done very well at adjusting to virtual classes. We couldnt ask for more and are so grateful we found LTL!
It was abundantly clear from our initial tour of the facility and meeting with the owners and staff that Living the Language (LTL) was way above the other options we considered.
That was validated by our experience at the school. Our daughter is speaking in Spanish and French. She is writing, learning to read, and singing in 3 languages! WGN did a little segment on LTL during February 2019, because there are no other Chicago daycares that teach this way and this well.
The teachers love on the children and care about them deeply. The LTL community feels like a family. Sandra and Nana (the owners) go out of their way to ensure the children get a great education and are loved on. The daycare celebrates fun European holidays and has an annual World-vision Toddler Marathon, where the children get to run a race and learn about being compassionate and generous towards those with less.
