Honestly, it isn’t anywhere near a “safe place.” All of my friends are getting bullied because if their religion or what gender they like. If you tell a teacher all they do is say “we’ll fix this” than they tell the kid to stop and then the kid does it again and it goes on and on. Many teachers aren’t understanding if students are in pain for certain reasons and can’t participate in certain activity’s. I for one wanted to go to Rowe but had to go here instead. I knew that I wasn’t going to like it but I didn’t know that it was going to be this bad. Teachers don’t care at all about their students or how they feel about something they just care about how much their getting paid. In p.e when one of the students only ran 3 laps on the pacer, the teacher made us do extra while she yelled at him in the corner. If a kid can’t push themselves any farther the p.e teacher doesn’t care they still make you do it anyway and if you don’t do it, you will get a really bad grade. Also my elective class moves a little too fast. But I still love it. My other teachers are great except they can’t really handle problems to well which they could DEFINITELY work on. The reason I dread going to school every other day is because of p.e. Please look into this and I’ll change this reveiw. Untill then I highly recommend not to go yo this school. Also we only have five minutes to get from class to class and while the teachers may think that’s reasonable it isn’t. We aren’t aloud to run in the hallways but we also only have five minutes that’s like saying “go home than come back in five minutes or you’re fired” FIX THIS I AM CURRENTLY GOING TO THIS HORRIBLE SCHOOL!
i remember when i went there for the years of 2011-2013….ima just say this…BAD,the school had these strange restrictions which often led to problems with students,Such as an incident where up to 20 students stood at the door and begged to be let back in,because it was pouring rain out,but their rules said ‘Once you’ve gone outside, you must wait until the bell rings’,another issue is the lackluster staff and not so smart decisions, they once made a video to ‘Prove’ that kids can do much more than get to their class in under 5 minutes,(a issue with students complaining about lack of time to get to class),their Video didn’t prove anything since it had the example shown in the building when it was EMPTY(my stay had the school overpopulated,so it was hard to get to classes alone),and they jump-cut the video to make it seem as if they could do all sorts of stuff,(that would be impossible for a normal student to do,and make it to class on time.),along with multiple teachers at the time, loosing students papers they’ve turned in,and Still docking points away from them(aka, punishing them for something that wasn’t their fault).I’m unsure of what is currently going on with that school,(I’m now a Junior in High school),but if your thinking about enrolling your student in this school,i suggest you do some investigating of whats the current situation,to avoid ruining your students middle school years.
I had three kids go through Alder Creek and thought the school did a great job with all of them. I always felt like my kids were safe there and that the teachers did their job well. Yes, the teachers have big classes, but if you take advantage of Parent View it is easy to keep track of the kids grades, and communicate with the teachers if something comes up that you need to discuss.
