I just toured this center and felt really misled by their online marketing. Their website makes it look like one of those cool outdoor preschools with lots of space to be in nature. Instead it’s your standard preschool with yes, an outdoor playground, but it’s located in a strip mall and nothing all that impressive. You can tell they wanted to rebrand it “Rocky Mountain Preschool” to attract the outdoor enthusiasts of Denver, but it’s basic and even outdated. The kids do spend more time outdoors according to the director – an average of two hours a day. I was unimpressed with her ability to speak to the retention rate of the teachers, she had no real stats to speak to. All she said was there’s one teacher that had been there two years and that she herself has been climbing that ladder and has been with them for 6 years. That doesn’t tell me anything about their employee satisfaction. She didn’t speak well to the curriculum, schedule of activities, or expand on the type of food served etc. I left feeling just super letdown and with a strong gut-feeling that this wouldn’t be satisfactory for my child. I felt really misled by their website too…a waste of my time.
Our son goes here, and really enjoys it. I feel Ms. Athena has made such a huge difference. She has great communication with families, and has gone above and beyond with helping navigate potty training my little one and has provided wonderful and welcome advice! They keep the kids busy throughout the day, and really try to incorporate fun things (splash days) to match the seasons. The thing that stands out to me the most is the amount of outdoor time they schedule in for the kids!
We started our 2.5 year old at Rocky Mountain 5 days a week and we were very nervous about how he would transition to a 5 day week. His teacher, Ms. Sharissa has been AMAZING and made us feel so much better. Even though he cries at drop off, he runs straight too her and you can tell how comfortable she makes him! He loves to “play with his teachers” and he also loves the gym and outside. The change in spaces is good for him each day too. Highly Recommend.
