This school has good education and is respectable, don’t get me wrong. However, if your child is coming from a public school like i did, it will be a different animal. i am not even remotely happy here, i dread waking up every morning and going here. I do know that despite that, i am getting one of the best educations you can get. this school is not a joke and demands your best and it WILL get exhausting to the point where you will want to pull your hair out. The lunch is a serious problem and needs attention, it will sometimes be cold but most of the times it is just flat out disgusting, and we cant buy drinks or snacks to flush out the taste. this stems from poor funding that is visible from the moment you walk in, old classrooms, no bus system, and old and broken desks. Contrary to this your student is provided a chrome book model n21 or n22. You may miss out on the true high school experience, but you will definitely become a better (not happier) student.

Update: this is the year after my initial review and there is something about harmony that seriously needs attention. This school lacks funding. In my algebra 2 class my classmates and I constantly fought on who got the “good chairs”. Yes you read that right, the good chairs. About four or five of the chairs were broken or bent to the point where sitting in them was painful, especially after an hour and a half. There was one chair in particular which I had the joy of sitting in plenty of times throughout the year. This chair had a crack that basically split the chair in two down the middle. Point is, please get this school more funding, for both chairs and lunches. Oh and at lunch, why not let us use our phones? I don’t talk to many people at lunch so I usually end up sitting there staring at the wall.

This school is the place to go if you want an excellent education. The teachers are caring, hardworking, and smart. They go out of their ways to help each student excel and succeed in their classes. This school, though strict, really wants the best for each student. The rules are here to protect everyone inside the building and because of these rules there are no drugs , crimes, or any form of violence happening inside this school. Along with all of this, there is a 100% graduation rate and every senior at this school will graduate with an acceptance into a 4 year college. There are all sorts of after school clubs and the sports teams are making their way up every year! Many new exciting things are happening this year as well. Since Harmony’s main focus is on student education it came as a lovely surprise that there was a middle school dance along with a high school dance in late November and early December. Overall if you want your child in a safe environment, and a place where they will get a better education than any other school in fort worth…then this is the place to go.
I have been a proud Harmony parent for nine years. I have three sons, my oldest son graduated from HSI in 2015 a received a merit based scholarship to attend the School of International Service at American University in Washington, DC. He transitioned to the rigors of college and had a very successful first semester. My second son is currently a Junior and the school offers him the ability to take Dual Credit classes at UTA in a special High School Honors Program. Administration is available to discuss concerns and helps support my children reach their full potential. My youngest is a sixth graded and has been given opportunities to expand his interest in after school programs and the gifted and talented program. I am an active parent at the school and I think that helps my understanding of the inner workings and to know about all the opportunities available. It is a very good college preparatory school.
