Our two kids received a great education during their years at Far Brook School. They develop a appreciation for learning as a result of Far Brook’s commitment to developing ” Life-long learners). On several occassions, I had the opportunity to sit-in and observe the personal interaction between the students and their teachers. There was an openness and comfort level between them that allowed for the free flow of ideas and questions that I found both stimulating and encouraging.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Morning Meetings , the music and the arts. Both of my children were given the opportunity to perform in two Shakespearean play on stage before alive audience. My son, who will be completeing his senior year in High school, musical talents were honed and developed during his formative years at FBS. He is a gifted and talented pianists and has received several regional music awards.
Both of my children developed friendships with their peers that are as strong and vibrant today as it was during their years at FBS.

My wife and I considers Far Brook our second home. We had the opportunity to meet and establish bonds with other parents that we still enjoy and value today. We look forward to visiting the campus during the year, especially during Fall Family Day.
In closing, I only wished that my parents had known about Far Brook School and had afforded me the opportunity to experience the uniqueness of a Far Brook education.

Far Brook School is a unique educational environment. For 70 years, Far Brook has demonstrated that the study of math, science, history, music, and theater are not mutually exclusive studies. Today, students explore concepts in STEAM while studying Shakespeare. A young pianist might perform Glinka-Balakirev’s “The Lark” for the entire school in the morning, study human physiology mid-afternoon, and work on her ancient Egyptian Shaduf towards the end of the day. Far Brook is such a wonderful experience for students.

My two brothers, sister, and I graduated Far Brook. Later, my nieces and nephew graduated FBS. Now my two sons are currently attending the school. Visit Far Brook and see this remarkable place for yourself.

My kids love their school! They get to dive deep into interesting subjects and work closely with caring, experienced, innovative teachers who also teach other teachers (recently at the United Nations school) or write curriculum later adapted elsewhere (such as, at the Liberty Science Center). We also appreciate the schools’ thoughtfully designed curriculum which, in addition to academics, includes team sports for all, public speaking, social/emotional development (so helpful during the “middle school” years), community service, social justice/change makers, opportunities to learn from failure and take risks, French, art, music (theory and performance), drama, dance, design engineering and woodshop.
