I find the way the administration at their school addresses racism to be really disappointing. The teachers and staff would always provide an excuse for the children use of racial epithets. The women in the front told me to “stop lashing out” as I expressed my child experience. Which is incredibly insensitive. When it comes to how it handles racial issues, this school is a complete joke. The solution was to SEGREGATE my child, placing her with a black teacher while the white student continued to attend classes with the white teacher. My children are only still here because we will be moving out of state next month and I am hesitant about exposing them to too many changes. IF YOUR CHILD IS AFRICAN AMERICAN, I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND them attending this school. Since the faculty is made up of members of those racial groups, the school solely values its White and Hispanic kids.
***Edit: Admin get rid of any Head Teacher that has ever blatantly threatened a student. There’s one many know of. Staff and Parents. Rumor has it you won’t fire due to her test scores. True or not – in order to create safe spaces for Children of all backgrounds, stop enabling bad behaviors from Teachers.

Some teachers truly do care and go above & beyond! But some teachers have been bullies themselves last year and this year. Admin keeps certain teachers around and it seems that numbers for good teachers are winding down. Students shouldn’t come home crying due to their teacher lashing out in any way. School needs more compassion + consistency and administration needs to hold everyone to the same standard.

“I can’t say enough good things about my kids’ school! The teachers, staff, and principal, Mrs. McClellan, are absolutely amazing. They have fantastic communication skills, which gives me complete confidence in sending my kids to school. I know they’ll be in safe hands and classrooms. Plus, Aimee, the office lady, is incredibly kind and helpful. She always goes above and beyond to assist parents and students. And let’s not forget Mrs. Bowman, the assistant principal, and Mrs. Mazie, the paraprofessional. They both show so much care and dedication to the kids, going above and beyond to ensure their success. It’s truly heartwarming. I highly recommend this school!”
