This is our daughter’s first year at Northdale Christian Academy and so-far our family is very happy we made the switch from the Hillsborough Public School system. Even though it’s still early in the school year we can see a positive change in our daughter’s overall happiness, education, and socialization. For the first time in years, she can’t wait to tell us about her day and what she’s learned after coming home. Simply, so far she’s a different kid who actually enjoys school.

So how did we decide on Northdale Christian Academy? Well, my husband and I conducted a vigorous search for alternative schools for our daughter, and we found several very good alternative schools. We visited several. But after stopping by Northdale Christian Academy, and getting a first hand peek into the classrooms and watching the teachers interact with children, we were impressed. But what sealed the deal was our meeting with the school’s Principal, Dane Mattes. No sales pitch. No pressure. No hype. Instead, he listened and addressed all our questions and concerns about how and why this school would be the best fit for our daughter.

Here are just a few of the things the school offers that we didn’t find anywhere else and were important to us.

-Very small teacher to student ratio. Which allows your child ample one on one help from the teacher should they need it.
-Weekly email updates on your child’s progress from their teacher. And easy email access, with quick response times from that teacher.
-A friendly, welcoming atmosphere by all that you feel as soon as you walk into the school.
-A hands-on Principal who is always available to address any concerns or needs you may have.
-An after school program which balances play and learning. They watch over the children as they play and they also help them with any homework they have. And the cost is nominal.
-And at least for us, setting our child on a religious footing was important. However, you need not become a member of the church.

We all want the best education we can give our children. I won’t lie before the school year began, my husband and I suffered a bit of angina wondering if we were making the right choice in sending her to Northdale Christian Academy. I can tell you that angina has been replaced by a sense of a peace.

My grand-daughter is starting her “4th year at NCA. She came from a Charter School and was not doing well at all. Her first few months at NCA (what a difference). The teachers are wonderful, and are willing to work with each and every student. The classrooms are small, so it’s like each students gets one on one attention. No questions or concerns ever go unanswered. NCA is so wonderful we are moved the “3” younger siblings there last year. There should be no hesitation of placing your child/children at NCA. With everything that happen the last few years NCA made it so easy for students to learn at home. Teachers made it so easy, like they where still in the classroom. Hopefully we will have another starting in the “3” year old class next year
Looking for a wonderful school year starting soon Thank you NCA
After interviewing a few schools, our family choose Northdale Christian Academy, hands down. Mr. Mattes and staff made us feel like we would be part of a family and that the kid’s spiritual and educational needs were the number 1 priority. The experience so far has been amazing! The kids love all of the teachers and every day come home with enthusiasm for school and great stories from the day. This has been a great decision on our part.
