I don’t think it’s right for bus drivers to pick and choose who they will wait on at bus stops. If they call and tell a parent no one is there to pick up a child and say they will give you a minute to call them then leave but they will wait forever at other students house honking and calling until they come out. I’ve seen busdrivers wait everyday 5 minutes plus on the same student but can’t wait 1 minute on someone they don’t have to wait on normally. School system is failing their students and the parents.
It is 100% unacceptable for you to not have drivers for our students when you tell a CDL A Operator with a P and S endorsement and 20 years experience to not not apply for a substitute bus driver position because they can only sub for 2 or 3 weeks a month. If you dont have drivers and you are turning down qualified drivers. I am actually over qualified but was trying to help our school better serve our local families. The problem is not a lack of drivers it’s a management problem.
Horrible communication! They changed the bus route mid year, and I could understand if it were only by 5 or 10 mins. I received no advance notification that my kids bus route would be changing by 30 mins.
