I have gone to this school since prep and I absolutely love the staff, facilities, and the flexible learning structure all throughout my primary school years. I remember all my teachers because of all the ways they helped my education through patience and kindness. I love the facilities from the new buildings to the big ovals grounds and passive play areas throughout the school. Lastly, the co-teaching structure in the classrooms have helped me to learn in a way that works for me. ( From Hanon Box)
Our children’s education began here at Port Melbourne Primary School in 2013. Our youngest daughter is now in her final year. They have both thrived academically and socially and absolutely loved learning. The teachers are incredibly supportive and go above and beyond to support the children.
I’ve been a parent at Port Melbourne Primary School for about 15 years and I’ve seen a lot of change.
PMPS provides an excellent education for its students. It has provided a platform for my older kids to progress seamlessly to Albert Park College and for my eldest to go on to Melbourne University.
There is a strong focus on academic excellence and getting the best out of every student, with a rich curriculum, including its STEM, French and sports programs. There is also a strong focus on wellbeing. The Leadership team and teachers are excellent and dynamic.
The facilities are modern, with a new gym, soccer pitch and synthetic oval. The classrooms are also modern and well resourced with the heritage building recently being refurbished with new offices and dedicated STEM and French spaces.
There are plenty of other extra curricular programs for the students to get involved with and the school has a big focus on sustainability.
PMPS is also at the heart of the local community with plenty of opportunities for parents to get involved in the school, it’s programs and socially.
went here for primary, almost year 9 now. loved this school..made some really great friends and memories. wouldn’t have it any other way. <3 4 YR EDIT - Year 10 now, starting early VCE subjects. Sometimes I still reminisce about this school; the nostalgia is unreal. I hope the teachers who taught us are doing well.
Good public school lots of kids but great teachers helpers and parent participation.
