My son went there for the first half on the 2015-2016 school year. The staff was nice enough, but honestly, they all seemed overworked. 28 kids in his KG class, and the brand new out of college teacher was in there by herself with them. Also, because it’s a k-8 school, five year olds take the bus with middle school students, and nobody seems to pay attention to whether the big kids are picking on the little ones. Had a number of bullying problems with my boy, ALL of which happened on the bus. And because it’s a middle school, they have “resource officers” aka Sherrif Deputies carrying GUNS and TAZERS on campus every day. They don’t stay around the big kids either, I went to pick my son up one day and there was a armed MCSO deputy, coplete with kevlar vest and three types of weponry hanging off him, walking in between the rows of kindergarten kids like he was patroling a prison yard. Now, I don’t like the idea of cops at schools period, but the MCSO has an abismal record in terms of human rights, community interaction, and racial profiling. Their staff should NEVER be in charge of school children, especially not at a school with such a racially diverse student body. Fortunately, my son was transfered to a much nicer school in the district for the second half of the year to receive special speech and language services, an process which the Maryland school staff was very helpful and efficientin regards to. If I was just rating the quality of the people, it would be 3.5 or 4 stars.
This school does not care about your children at all not one percent I been up to this school many times to complain about my child being bullied I’ve talk to the principal personaly many times and he or the other people who work there have not done anything people who work there that I’ve talk to have lie and said that they didn’t know anything about the problems and that it was never brought to there attention when I know for a fact I talk to them the people who work there are lazy and don’t wanna do anything I’ve even ask then question directly and they never answered them and they just sit there with a dumb look on there faces they care more about writing late passes for children being seconds to class then acully dealing with kids being bullied
By far the worst school my child ever has and ever will attend. Bullying runs rampant here many kids have transferred to new schools because of it. Kids at the school act too old and vulgar for their ages. Very ghetto Ilana in the front office is very rude, does not care to help report problems like bullying which is in my opinion a serious matter to follow up on.
