Mrs. Keena, Ms. Marisol, Ms. Bree, Mrs. Irma, Ms. Ana, and Ms. Kyra exceeded our expectations. Every single one of those teachers were AH-MA-ZING. Our child was loved, cared for and learned a lot being in their care, specifically Mrs. Keena as she was our child’s head teacher. Fortunately, all but one have moved onto better opportunities.
With a heavy heart, we chose to withdraw our child from the ‘Cadence Family’ as there were more cons than pros. From the moment Ms. Kathy (old director prior to the most recent two) and Mr. Taylor (previous regional director) no longer associated with this location, it went far below sea level.
Two weeks in, our child tested positive for Strep at five months old. Four weeks in (two weeks later), our child tested positive for RSV. The school doesn’t know as we found out mid week after her last week there, she tested positive for RSV AGAIN. Twice in a six month span our child caught RSV being enrolled here. From the first day to the last day our child stayed congested and ill. We are well aware that daycares are an incubus of viruses and illness, but intermixing older children with younger children, let alone intermixing separate classrooms, doesn’t help keep it to a minimum.
Along with intermixing children, our child was bit on the foot by a child who was not assigned in the same class. The front desk contacted me via their protocol and insulted my intelligence by adamantly lying to me. ‘She’ insisted the child that bit my child was a daily classmate when I knew that was false. My child was the second oldest in that class and none of the infants assigned in that class randomly bit each other. Luckily, that was the only incident we had to endure.
‘Management’ is horrendous and flat out unprofessional as it happens to be other location directors communicating amongst one another, not going above their heads to the regional director, AKA their manager. Unfortunately for this particular location, they’ve had difficulty hiring and keeping directors. Both directors that were hired displayed favoritism amongst the staff as well as parents/families. Before withdrawing our child entirely from the ‘Cadence Family’, we opted in for a different location. We toured the Carrollton location and as per usual, asked the questions that we had. When I inquired about the registration fee (as the price varies location to location), the director said and I quote, “Oh, we don’t really do that here.” and shrugged with a chuckle. That alone displayed that following protocol is not a priority for them. Not to mention their infant teachers were too busy to look up from their phones to introduce themselves, let alone tend to a child that was being walked all over.
IRONICALLY, on our child’s first day at her new daycare, her head teacher asked if we’ve had experience with daycare. I responded yes, so she then asked what school we chose to part ways with. I responded, ‘Cadence Academy Preschool’. She gasped with horror and stated, “They are my previous employer.” – not Bent Tree or Carrollton – “I left long ago and have been here ever since. They are dirty, management doesn’t care about the children and staff, they are just awful.” I wasn’t even given a chance to list what made us give Cadence our two week notice. I was in absolute shock. Ever since our child has been at her new daycare, she hasn’t been ill (not even a little congested) and they don’t intermix the classrooms!!! Our child is loved and cared for by the entire staff!
Our experience with Cadence Academy Preschool as a whole was unfortunate, but withdrawing our child is what was best, even with us still paying roughly the same tuition rate. I’m beyond thankful for the relationships that we made while our child was enrolled, from the teachers who are now my friends to the parents as we continue our playdates for our little ones!
Love to pick up Elena from here, although, i don’t enjoy ?? dropping her off because she’s genuinely happy to go to her preschool. The staff is really friendly and accommodating. Her parents did great in picking this preschool to care for her.
