I usually come here for a color and style and I knew the prices were reasonable seeming these are students in learning. However from the very beginning they saw red in my hair from previous dyes years ago and said they could tone it, it would just take a while. The student I had today was told to do highlights when all I asked for was honey blonde with my roots covered. After 6 hours and them burning my scalp to were I can’t even touch it I left with 4 different colors in my hair, uneven tones at that and for this to be a basic ask I felt the student had no clue what to do. She asked the instructor for help each step and treated me as if I was her first client. New or not you go with your instinct and speak up if you just don’t know what your doing. I was completely frustrated and I cried when I got home, because they were being so sensitive to the needs of the student rather than the client. They cared more about how it made her look than how I will have to live and repay to get this fixed. Even after I heal my scalp. Won’t be coming back.
As a former student I do not recommend this school, due to unprofessionalism, racism and rude remarks. Unfortunately Peggy will see herself as a victim, yet she is the problem 95% of the time. Unable to understand no one left because of music, but for the reason of absurd comments and feeling as though someone was always being put down in her presence. As well as the barber teacher, Andre Niko repeatedly putting others down by repeating the comment these people will not use their license when they leave this school as an INSTRUCTOR this is no way to teach students, they should be encouraged not degraded. There are 3 other options of schools in the Texarkana Area, do your research! A quick Facebook search will unlock a can of worms about this school that will take you hours to read.

I had sent over my information to register as a student and went in to tour the facility. I met the owner and she told me how she did not believe in COVID. Said it was a sham. There were no covid guidelines in place. No one in the entire facility had a mask on, there was no social distancing and the owner informed me she was tired of students calling out sick due to covid, she didnt believe it. This was all so unprofessional and unsafe that it made me ultimately make the decision to drive an additional hour to go to a different school.
