Hillcrest Christian Academy is a place our family has called home for the past six years. We have three children in elementary school and have been beyond blessed with the academic education theyre each receiving. Their teachers are hardworking and dedicated, but most of all theyre Christian role models who daily set an example for our children. They pour into our children and reinforce Jesus in their lives. Its such an encouraging feeling knowing our children are being raised and taught about Jesus at home, and at school theyre being ministered to in the same way. Their souls are growing and theyre given opportunities to seek and pray for a real, tangible relationship with Jesus. Our children often say, Dad, Mom, we never have to leave Hillcrest, right? We can stay here through high school, right? Our family is thankful for the foundation Hillcrest has laid in their lives that makes them desire and want to carry that through all their educational years. Blessed and looking forward to each year the Lord gives our family at Hillcrest Christian Academy.
Unfortunately things have really gone down hill there recently. It’s a revolving door for the staff and they have had 7 Principals in 10 years. The strong Christian staff who did everything there and were very connected to all the families were all fired. Only one or two good teachers remain The building has not been maintained properly. There is no transparency at all with the board and parents are not even allowed to attend the meetings. No one knows who they are and there is no process by which parents can get on the board. Not one si gle person currently on there has any skin in the game. Its sad. The school could really be great but instead it is extremely unstable and chaotic.
My daughter has been attending Hillcrest since kindergarten and she is now in 4th grade. We love the school! The teachers and administrative staff are easy to communicate with and the principal addresses any concerns in a timely manner. We love the smaller class sizes, weekly Bible devotions as well as the variety of special classes offered. We will continue to send our daughter to Hillcrest through graduation. Thank you Hillcrest Christian Academy for a solid education for our daughter.
