In the midst of that pandemic, finding and then having our babies attend Far Horizons, was an island of normalcy in the chaos of COVID. Our kids, just like countless others, were so detrimentally affected, even at the ages of 2 and 4. When Far Horizons opened and had availability immediately, we were so psyched to just simply put them in school, during the day and together! It was so novel and so wonderful. And, our kids thrived basically immediately, coming out of their COVID induced shells, playing and being kids as they hadn’t been able to be for several months.

We’ve loved our experience. This was our first experience with the Montessori system and methods, and our children have thrived in the ‘work’ environment. They’ve loved their classmates and teachers. Everyone has been so wonderful and I know both of our children, especially our very sensitive 4 year old, are far better for it. What a lovely little place!

FHM is great school. Our daughter has been there since she was 3.5 years, she’s now 8. She has thrived in the Montessori system and she loves that she’s given choices over her learning. It’s a very student centered approach that instills a sense of independence, engagement and leadership. When we moved her for a year to public school, she lost her passion for learning and everything became a chore. Now, she’s excited about school everyday and is learning at her own pace but still meeting curriculum benchmarks. We love FHM, we love the teachers (Lisa Cairo is the best!), and we adore the owner, Lynn. All the teachers are fully invested in the kids and our child is thriving in a supportive environment.
We had a very negative experience at Far Horizons. They do not seem to have a good grasp of early child development. There were three times when we picked up my three year old from camp at FHM to find that she was filthy from not having been assisted in the bathroom.
