I just got a call this morning from IBS confirming the appointment that I had booked a month in advance stating they have raised their prices and I will need to pay the higher price for my massage service later today. 3 hours notice for a policy that took effect 9 days ago. When I stated the policy should have been to grandfather people who made appointments before the policy change I was told sorry I can either pay the full price today or book a lesser service instead. I said it’s not about the cost of the service it’s about the disrespect to customers that you show by not grandfathering folks who already made an appointment in advance of the policy change. When I asked for contact information of a policy maker, I was denied the opportunity to give constructive feedback. Which brings me to another issue. I booked an appointment two months ago for a one and a half hour massage. My massage was exactly 1 hour and 10 minutes long. I showed up early for that appointment to ensure the full opportunity for one and a half hours on the table. DO NOT COME HERE!! They nickel and dime folks, are dishonest, and treat customers like garbage. I understand it is the cheaper alternative but I would much rather go to a full salon and spa and get what I pay for then have to deal with the aggravation of being told you’re going to get a service and not. I feel sorry for the students who need this practice because the institution clearly does not care to provide that opportunity.
I had a wonderful Massage at the IBS School of Cosmetology and Massage by Meagan. The space was clean, quiet, and professional. Meagan was attentive and loosened all my tight spots. The intake form you fill out asks what pressure you like and if you want particular areas worked on. The school does a Complimentary Strand Test that ensures your hair can withstand the Bleaching Process. I also had my hair Bleached by Olivia, and she was able to lift my hair several levels in one day. My hair was three colors, and it wasn’t damaged after the process. The students performing the services have an Instructor present during the process.
I’ve procrastinated getting my hair professionally dyed and cut since 2019, but decided it was finally time to let myself be pampered. I booked the appointment a couple weeks ahead of time and it was an easy process. The student who worked on my hair was amazing and the prices are super affordable compared to salon prices. I highly recommend this school and absolutely will be booking another appointment when it’s time to dye my hair again
