Where do I begin?

All of the proverbial “check boxes” that young parents are looking for in a facility that will be a second home to their children are checked. Safety, nutrition, curriculum, socialization, acceptance and diversity – the list goes on. These items are all table stakes and Primrose doesn’t take the responsibility lightly. We are updated throughout the day with pictures, updates on snacks and meals, updates on bathroom breaks (very helpful while we potty trained), etc. But none of the above should be a surprise in this industry and from this brand.

The curriculum is exactly what you would expect from a Primrose school, allowing our son’s active and creative mind to thrive. But what really sets this school apart is their PEOPLE. Anita Patel (Owner) and her staff have been extensions of our family for over a year now. I can’t put into words how thoughtful and patient they have been throughout our time with this school. If you are looking for a safe environment where the entire staff knows your child by name, even if they are not your child’s teacher, look no further.

Our son is the primary attendee of this school, but when COVID put our daughter’s school year in jeopardy, Anita and team were flexible and willing to launch a distance learning support classroom where her staff would help our Kindergartner learn in her online class. This isn’t something they had to do, but they understood the pressure and the stress that their young families were under and opted to do whatever they could to help.

Speaking of COVID, their response to this pandemic has been impressive to say the least. Their policy changes demonstrate that their students’ safety is their number one concern and they make every effort to ensure our son and our family stay safe while the world is upside down. We even received an alert when the parent of a child in another classroom was diagnosed with COVID. Even though she knew this may scare some families and threaten existing enrollments, Anita prioritized our family’s safety by making us aware of the situation and allowing us to make an informed decision in continuing to send our son to school there. As a matter of fact, the honesty and openness did nothing but reinforce for us that our son is in the right place. My wife is a practicing Physician Assistant with an additional Masters degree in Public Health. She has not felt “safe” in very many places over the last several months as COVID rages on, but we certainly feel safe here.

Thank you to Ms. Gigi, Ms. Russel, Ms. Moua, Ms. Eaton and to both Marissa Patel (Director) and Anita Patel (Owner). Thank you all for playing such a vital role in our family.

I am shocked that two other reviews on Yelp describe the same exact thing we went through at this Primrose. Go read those reviews as well.

I originally gave Primrose 5 stars 3 months ago. At that time my 1 year old was going there and we saw him absolutely flourish. The director was a different lady back the and she was amazing! We liked Primrose so much that we decided to enroll our 4 year old into their PreK program.

A few weeks after our 4 year old started, the director disappeared. Keep in mind, this location opened in March of this year. Then they got a brand new director and it’s been going downhill ever since. We got daily incident reports about our son’s behavior. My son is a normal 4 year old. Primrose made us feel like there was something wrong with our child. Yes, he would cry when he didn’t get his way; yes, he would have a difficult time sometimes with transitions from activity to activity… what 4 year old wouldn’t? We had to leave work to pick him up early three times for his behavior and each time we picked him up, he was perfectly fine; sitting there coloring with a smile on his face.

We had a conference with the PreK teacher and the director and they threatened a 2 week probation due to his “inappropriate” behavior. I asked how can they expect a 4 year old to change in 2 weeks?

We have been working on his listening skills at home and got him enrolled in martial arts. He does wonderful at home and at martial arts but apparently not there according to them. We decided to give it one more week because our younger son was still there and doing well.

The last straw came when my son was supposed to have a martial arts show and tell with his karate instructor but instead they called me earlier in that day and told me I needed to come get him immediately because he was being too disruptive. They didn’t even give him a chance for his show and tell. It was clear they had given up on my child.

Needless to say, both of my boys are being moved to a different PreK and daycare.

We now have 3 children who have progressed through Primrose of West Chandler’s programs, starting in the infant room. Our eldest, this past May, graduated from the Pre-K program while our other 2 are currently in Preschool Pathways and Young Toddlers.

Our eldest son initially attended another school until he came home with a black eye as an infant and we were told it was his fault. We pulled him out of that school QUICKLY and was pleased to learn about Primrose School of West Chandler opening. During our initial meeting the owner, Anita Patel, we shared our prior experience, expressed our concerns, and shared our expectations. We knew then that our value and philosophy in caring for children was aligned. Several years later and this is still true.

We have gotten to know every single staff member that has interacted with our children over the years and have never hesitated to express any concerns that we have had to any member of the staff. There has not been a single instance where we’ve shared feedback that has gone unacknowledged nor ignored. From our experience, Anita Patel (the owner), Marissa Patel (the director) and every member of the Primrose staff is committed to the safety, well-being, and progression of the students.

We would make the decision to trust our children with the Primrose again. Even after moving away from Chandler, we decided to keep our boys enrolled. We happily make the drive because we know what to expect and our boys continue to thrive at the Primrose School of West Chandler. And my husband, a retired police officer who grew up to his family owning/operating a nursery. After all these years, the Patels have become like family.

We highly recommend Primrose of West Chandler.
