We have had the best childcare experience ever at Hampden Christian. We have a kid in the 2’s room and a baby in the Infant room and we have literally zero complaints. This school is amazing. I picked it only because it was walking distance and had no idea how lucky we were until after they started. The teachers are wonderful, my toddler constantly asks if his teachers can come over to our house to play, and he says they’re his best friends when asked. The school is impeccably run, thanks to an amazing office manager, and the school exudes warmth and welcome as you walk through the doors. All of the other classrooms’ teachers know both of my sons’ names. Their room teachers send home a cute little report card each day for each child, plus you get photo albums with each room’s activities each week which are a delight to look through. We’re Jewish and have felt nothing but welcome. The kids get tons of outside time and both seem loved and cared for. The teachers are awesome and were super communicative while we sleep trained our baby which was way more than I expected since they have such big jobs. They let us continue to cloth diaper our baby. The meals are provided for the toddler. The 2s room feels just like a little school, it’s amazing to me that all of the kids actually sit for activities and art. And the baby room is no shoes and no classroom schedule since each baby is on their own (which the teachers do a great job with). This school just knows what they’re doing and are nailing it. We love it.

During the pandemic, we struggled to help teach our Kindergarten and 1st grade girls to read while juggling our day jobs. We applied to Hampden Christian because of its small class sizes, values-oriented curriculum, focus on reading, and emphasis on in-person learning. The past year at HCS has exceeded our expectations in every way. Our kids are happy and fully engaged at school again. They are not only able to read, but now have a love of reading that we hope will last a lifetime.

We are a daycare family at HCS and have been absolutely thrilled with the experience. The teachers are excellent and really connect with your child. We are not a religious family, but we feel very welcome in the HCS community. The daycare program emphasizes being outdoors and hands-on crafts instead of screen time. Cannot recommend the program highly enough!
