***** update on Jan 2023 *****
I dropped my 4 starts to 2 starts since my review from last year. It’s entirely your choice, but I would avoid this school for VPK. Reasons why:
1) They have another director for this school year. This is either their 4th or 5th.
2) It’s January and I found out they have yet to do any AP testing. Thankfully, I don’t think it’s that important for her to have for kindergarten, but imagine if it was…
3) I understand the lack of direction without a stable director, but what about the assistant director? What is she for? Is it not her duty to step in when directors cannot?

At this point I think this center just needs someone stable, dedicated and better communication, better management.
I’ve worked in VPK school and my mother was a VPK teacher and director for years. So I know what a teachers role, asst directors role and directors role should be. So the lack of the things I see in this school is beyond mind blowing.
Again, thankfully the teacher teaches well.
*******end of Jan 2023 update*****

I received an email asking to please leave an honest review and so I will.

Our daughter is attending kindercare at Northdale since the beginning of school year. She has only been going for VPK.

I will give you readers the bad bits first….
The first few months has been quite frustrating. They switched directors a few times within less than 2 months or so (typing this in Dec 2022) in the beginning of the school year. I never asked why, I just felt bad for the staff that was present. It seemed like no one knew what they were doing. The lack of communication drove me insane! We almost pulled our daughter out of this school. We started to look around for other schools and right when we were about to take her out there were 2 reasons why we didn’t. 1) She was already almost 2 months in and I didn’t want to do that to her. 2) The VPK teacher Mrs. Maritza is a phenomenal teacher! My mom use to teach VPK so her teaching style kind of reminds me of hers. Mrs. Maritza actually teaches and is getting our daughter ready for big kid school. She even gives her homework every Friday. She is very sweet to our daughter.
The staff is pretty nice too. The director that has finally been there for more than a few weeks appears to be doing good as well. I pray that next school year things start off better for other parents. I understand that preschool staff are under paid and it’s hard to find great teachers for VPK not just kind but also one that teaches good.

So if you made it this far into my review, Mrs Maritza is a great teacher and Im not sure if our daughter would have stayed had it not been for her. If management reads this, give her a raise! Teachers like her are rare and she deserves it. Our almost 5 year old recognizes and reads a good amount of sight words and her writing skills are improving over time. She is always so happy to see her teacher.

Id give 5 stars but because of everything from the beginning of the school year and the lack of communication at the beginning I gave it 4.

* I will update this review if needed by the end of her school year. If you see no update below this line, it means things continued to go well.*

Update was posted up top since I felt it was important.

My daughter has been coming here since she was 18 months old and she will be 4 in June. I ?? trust that the Director, Ms.Pam and her teacher Ms. Jasmine not only have my daughters best interests at heart, but everyone else does as well.

She has flourished here. From Academics, to social skills and cooperative learning, to her speech and self confidence, her teacher takes the time with her to develop these skills. They are always available to talk to when we pick her up. I am then able to take what she has learned and continue her education at home. Literally every week she learns something new!

And the love and care they have for our kids is genuine. My daughter LOVES going to school everyday and loves Ms. Jasmine, as she has with all of her previous teachers.

Make no mistake, this is not just a “daycare”. And I am sincere when I say that my daughters academic future has gotten off on the RIGHT foot because of them, and I have no doubt what she is learning now is going help her excel in Primary school.

Since the day I had to urgently enroll my two little ones into a daycare for the first time ever, up until this very moment, I have never felt so at peace handing my children off to anyone other than family besides Northdale KinderCare and all of their staff. The director and assistant director, Ms. Pam and Ms. Kiomi, without hesitation welcomed us like family, and the staff/teachers did so as well. I will hands down recommend this KinderCare to anyone, especially in an urgent situation as I was when I enrolled my babies. They’ve taught, nurtured and loved my children since day one, and my kids have never left this daycare without expressing how much they love their teachers and Ms. Pam and Ms. Kiomi. My babies have been here since they were 1 and 2 years old, they are now 3 and 4 years old and absolutely love going to school thanks to the staff! I love you all dearly and would give you all the world if I could for taking us all in as part of the Northdale KinderCare Family!
