Ah, Kearns high, dumping ground for Granite School District. Having graduated from the school, I know that there is a lot of good stuff here. I am also very aware of the reputation that Kearns High brings, and acutely aware of how underfunded the public school systems are in Utah. For a state that professes to focus so much on family we sure don’t spend our public funds that way.
Kudos to the faculty who bend over backwards to make do with what they have. Kudos to the students who make the most of the situation they are in. Going to Kearns is not a life-long handicap, but it certainly is not the head start that some more affluent neighborhoods enjoy.
This school is not great at handling issues with bullying. I am trying to keep my family safe and i keep getting the run around and then my calls ignored. When all i want is to talk to an authority. And they won’t answer. Or return a call. I think they are irresponsible and if they were worried about the students safety and lives and wanted to make a positive difference then they would want the parent who is trying to be involved to let them be and involve them. I am trying to prevent disaster and they wont take any of the steps to help the situation. Instead they want to not include both parties of a situation. I am angry and disappointed.
I’m most likely going to go there when I’m out of Jr high but until now I have had one sibling that is in 12th grade there and he says that it’s a pretty good school. Just like Kearns Jr High its full of a lot of bullies (Counting me most likely) people just bully to show off and become “Popular” which is most likely the case. But I’m probably just going to join the cheer leading squad there since there is pretty much nothing else to do there…. Joelique the 6th grader out! Duces.
