I have been to AACS from K-8(2013-2022) AACS is a great school just based on education. This is a great school k-5 but 6-8 is a lot different from elementary. k-5 the teachers helped the students and listen to them. but the downside is that the school is strict on dresscode, uniform, line orders, and AR/Grades. 6-8 may make your kids feel unsupported and not heard. The teachers team up on students and hold grudges. and the principals will not listen to the students if there in a situation between the teacher in the student. The teacher could be completely in the wrong but the principals will not even hear the student out and will only go with what the teachers has to say. This school preaches about standing up to bullying and has anti bullying assembly’s but doesn’t do anything about students getting bullied. The counselor doesn’t actually help/support ALL students but sides with students regardless of situations and doesn’t actually support the student’s. The teachers also talk bad about the students even if students are in the room and will actively show their indifference towards students. While having a “meeting” with the vice principal (2022) the vice principal slammed his hands on the table out of frustration and called me a hypocrite for asking for respect from teacher as i had respected them. I can say that I truly only like about 3-4 out of a total of 8 middle school teachers . The education is better than most schools and is able to challenge your student. But also make students who aren’t as “smart” or “intelligent” feel bad. Keep this in mind if your thinking of sending your kids here
The school actually was pretty decent from my second grade years to my fourth grade year. After that, things just went downhill. The school was pretty good and had a decent education, but it just started to change over the years. I now go to a different school and the rules are way more lenient. My new school has prepared me for life better because my teachers say that if you don’t do your homework, that’s on you. Not that you have to call home and read why you have to stay for “Homework Workshop”.
the education system in this school is one of the highest in APS. The teachers here are very understanding with learning, feelings, drama, and much more. I have went to this school my whole life (7 years). I would go here for the rest of my life if i could if this school is still around I would be honored to put my kids in here! I still go to this school to this day and I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon.
