My view has two parts because of how I see it and how my son sees the school. I see many or almost all teachers who dont control students. This bothers me. And my son is bullied in classes for many years and we have never solved this problem until now finally. In 3 years though my son has never had a teacher care or stand up for him and other students like new teacher Ms. Dulic he says. I see his progress and admire this a lot. Hopefully we continue to grow with this school in high school and have more teachers care about all students not just certain ones. Thank you to teachers (Dulic and Kaulb) who make students want to learn and go to school. Admin should pursue this progress from these teachers and help train the others who lack it.

This is a STEM school that is quickly becoming a STEAM school. The staff are attentive and the teachers are as good as they can be. We work with our child daily on homework, as do most of the parents. That is just the way it is. It’s not because they don’t teach, it’s just basically a science and engineering school with an emphisis on business as well. It’s better than a standard public school, but it’s a lottery system and sometimes the kids don’t understand that it’s not like public school in that its considerably more difficult. It’s still the best place to go for charter schools in the Metroplex and based upon Harmony Schools ratings one could argue some of the best in the state and nation.
I really love this school. I have three boys going here, and they are all treated very well by teachers and staff. It’s like a small town school with K-11 (soon adding 12) all housed together. There are a number of great opportunities to get your kids involved in fun academic activities. The discipline at HSB is stricter than what I’ve seen at other places, and I appreciate that. Also, there’s not the constant inundation about school sports, since the only sports are treated like school clubs. This school puts academics first. I’m very happy with my kids being here.
