Program: Computer Systems & Information Technology (CSIT)
Instructor: Rob Saul

Instructor is world class, he often utilized a Socratic style of teaching which was unique compared to just about every other teacher I’ve ever had.

The program exposes you to various technology but the main components are centered around the CompTIA certifications, namely A+, Net+, Sec+. I’d imagine the core learning material is still largely self-paced as you progress towards each certification exam. I was dual enrolled 9-10 years ago but I doubt much has changed aside from the actual certification material being updated every few years

These certs are all great for getting into various entry level IT positions..you’re probably looking at roles like help desk/desktop support/support technician/isp tech/etc. These certs won’t make you a sys admin or network admin, but they certainly lead to those type of career trajectories.

Final thoughts:
Adults – I’d personally just recommend picking up an A+, Net+, Sec+ CompTIA bundle and going to town. There I just probably saved you a ton of money. You’d gain the same knowledge and can sit for the same certs the program prepares you for, but in a MUCH quicker time frame really.

High School Dual enrollers – 100% sign up for this if seriously interested in computers/networking/security/IT in general. You’ll be so ahead of your peers its borderline OP.

What a terrible school for children with special needs. My son was in dual enrollment in the DVT program. He began at the start of the school year, August 2023. I was in contact with his teacher, Ed Fagan through email and Suzanne McLauchlin- ESE liason through email and phone throughout the 1st quarter. On December 5, 2023, we met over zoom with his teacher, Ed Fagan, Suzanne McLauchlin- Ese Liason, Darby Larkin-Assistive Director and David Culver (He was new to the school. I am not sure of his title) on regarding concerns about his IEP (Individual Education Plan) being met and why the fundamentals of the program were not taught before beginning actual projects, they smirked at us and showed absolutely no concern or interest in even getting a game plan to help my son succeed. They even actually blamed my son. I’m in such shock that people, especially educators can be so cruel. I wish I would have contacted the teacher before having my son apply there to make sure this was a good fit. My advice for anyone and especially those who have or know someone with an IEP is to check and make sure the class and educator will be a good fit.
Bistro 502
Definitely unique.
This is a special place. Its a Bistro located in a technical school run by students and supervised by a professional chef.
You can sit at a counter looking directly into the kitchen. All I can say is wow. They should be so proud.Food quality good and all made to order.Student servers grow on you .They are attentive learning to be professional with the right mix of friendliness.Could be a bit more relaxed.Presentation good.Could use a bit more garnish.Decor modern and comfortable.Parking convenient and plentiful.Menu limited.Hours limited.Open only 3 days a week.Pricing inexpensive.
Now the best part.Only a contribution to a scholarship fund suggested in place of a tip. What a great idea.
I will be back
