I recently took an in person OUPV 6 pack class in Connecticut. The class was well organized covering all of the work required. The instructor was exceptional providing us with many tips along the way. The class was a great group of people with all of us helping each other out. I opted to take the on line Master, towing and courses immediately following completion of the OUPV course. If you think you want to go for the master it was certainly easier while everything from the in person class was fresh. I also sat for the proctored MROP exam which the school can also administer. While the course can be done on line, I recommend taking the OUPV class in person. The Nautical school website has several suggested books to read preparing for the class and suggest you get them. These books helped me better understand the course material. The time invested will make the class even more enjoyable. The office is easy to reach providing excellent personal service so rare today. The study app they offer is great, with flash cards and mock tests (cost a few dollars but well worth the investment). The journey wasn’t easy and the required documentation take time to assemble. Just take it a piece at a time and any candidate can successfully complete the course along with the other requirements. Excited to become a licensed captain looking forward to a new 2nd career doing what I love.

Thank you Caleb, Nicole and Capt. Bill!

Recently took my 200 Ton upgrade through these guy online, I never have taken any online classes before and what a great experience.
Captain Mike and his team answered all my question that I Had going into it and I found when taking the the class that is was the least stressful class that I had ever taken through out my MMC classes. The proctor allowed three hours for the test and because of The Nautical Schools class I was so prepared that it took me 30 minutes and scored a 90 Precent. Big Shout out to the team and the programs they have put together.

My entire experience from the 60.5 hour in-person OUPV (March 2024) to the 24 hour online Master upgrade was way better than I could have imagined. The classroom instructor in Stonington was top notch and made the entire class fairly entertaining. The office staff were incredibly helpful in assisting with the ENTIRE process. Knowing what I know now, I would not have picked any other school. I plan to do the Tow Endorsement class with TNS once my MMC arrives. Thank you again Captain Mike, Amanda, and staff.
