Unacceptable Experience at Peace Montessori

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the experience my family has had with Peace Montessori regarding the enrollment process for my son. From the very beginning, there have been multiple instances of poor communication, disorganization, and a lack of professionalism.
Initially, despite leaving several voicemails and emails over a period of weeks, it took an unreasonable amount of time just to receive a response with the necessary enrollment forms from the director. When we finally secured an appointment to visit the facility, we arrived to find it in disarray, with no clear guidance or welcoming presence.

Although Ms. Priyanka gave us a tour and confirmed a 5-day opening for which I paid immediately. on my son’s starting day, we were told he could only attend for 3 half-days per week and you enrolled him only for 3 days , then we emailed director saying we did not enroll him for 3 days , she replied back to us saying due to another family’s situation they could not give 5 days a week for my son. This crucial detail was never communicated to us beforehand, and we had to forfeit his spot at our previous daycare as a result.

To make matters worse, And then we got an email to pay the full month’s fee, even though my son didn’t even attend school there. Then they said again it was an error.

This entire situation has been an exercise in frustration, with constant miscommunications, last-minute changes, and an apparent lack of organization or customer service standards. As paying clients, we deserve better than to be continuously misled and disrespected throughout such an important process.

I urge you to review your enrollment protocols, staff training, and communication practices to ensure no other families are subjected to this sort of inexcusable experience in the future.

I began my quest to find a Montessori school for my daughter several years ago. Upon visiting many Montessori schools in the Cary/Apex area, I stumbled upon Peace Montessori. Peace is run by an owner, Sharon, who truly embraces the Montessori approach and supports her teachers by giving them the resources they need to help children thrive both inside and outside the classroom. My daughter is thriving at Peace with the help from her passionate teachers. She comes home and talks about the science experiments they’re doing in class, the upcoming International holidays, and the different continents of the world. She especially loves the extracurricular visitors whom Sharon has incorporated into the students’ monthly schedule. These include Spanish lessons, Yoga instruction and animal/life science instruction.

As a former teacher, I have high standards and Peace exceeds my expectations. I’m happy to share that my daughter (age 4) is making meaningful relationships with her peers and teachers. In addition, my twins, whom are enrolled in the Toddler Program, have made remarkable progress…from language development to social interactions…I couldn’t be more pleased with their progress. Once again, though, the credit is due to the passionate teachers who help make this possible and, for that, I’m thankful for all that Peace Montessori has done to help my children thrive during the most important developmental years of their life.

Update 11/2015: My children continue to thrive at Peace Montessori. My son attended our local public school for kindergarten, but we decided to make a switch back to the elementary program at Peace for the remainder of elementary school. The director was very helpful and supportive with this transition. He couldn’t be any happier. His teachers are absolutely amazing and have created a classroom where the kids are really able to shine. He is engaged with his classwork, loves to share the new things he is learning with us & is challenged each day. He is gaining an appreciation for the diversity of the world, and learning what it is to be a part of a community.

My daughter absolutely loves her class in Children’s House, and has learned an incredible amount in her time there. She is on the cusp of reading and is exploring early math. The children are able to explore what interests them in a supportive and nurturing environment.

We feel very lucky to have found Peace Montessori.

We have two children currently enrolled at Peace Montessori. We could not be any happier with our experience. We have been met with nothing but support and warmth from the staff. And both of our children are absolutely thriving. We would not hesitate to recommend the school. It has been fantastic in every way.
