Nine years ago, we were very lucky to get our son, who had struggled his 7th grade year at an OCSD middle school, into the 8th grade class at CAIS. The smaller class sizes allowed several of his teachers to surmise that our son simply hadn’t been challenged at his middle school. He was moved up two levels in math within the first weeks of classes. By the beginning of his junior year, he was taking all his classes at Clackamas Community College. He graduated from CAIS at the same time he earned an Associate’s Degree from CCC. He transfered to OSU as a junior in 2019, and graduated in 2021 as a Mechanical Engineer. He now has a wonderful job with a high tech firm. While we have no doubt our son is gifted and highly intelligent, my wife and I agree that if it wasn’t for CAIS and the teachers and administrators who believe in and nurture each student to realize their full potential, our son’s future might look drastically different. Thank you CAIS! Your amazing STEM school is what every school district in America needs to help form our future adults!
my last class there was three years ago when covid first shut down the schools and I don’t miss it there because I was about to be expelled for not breaking the rules aka having my own laptop, all my teachers were fine with that apart from one anytime I did work in his class he would write me up for doing my work it got to the point where the dean of students (mr. storm) was going to expellee me because he couldn’t take anything away from me that the other kids used. if he did go through with my expulsion i would’ve sue the staff that hated me because as I’ve said I wasn’t breaking the rules at the time i was there. now I go to ocsla a lot smaller classes then cais did and the staff don’t care that I have my own laptop, haven’t gotten in trouble yet this time, the only thing I miss about cais is the access to hard wear tools at anytime/for class.
you also have transportation to Oregon City transit center Right across the Street from the pool on both sides Trimet Bus # 33 I Use 2 go to school there before they changed the name to Clackamas Academy of Industrial Sciences it was Oregon City High School Jackson Campus
