We’ve had an incredible experience with Kiddie Academy Lincoln Square-Ravenswood these past few months. Transitioning our son from a small in-home daycare to Kiddie Academy has truly been one of the best decisions we’ve made.
The recent (positive!) changes in management are evident and the staff, facility, and programs have exceeded our expectations. The facility is welcoming, CLEAN, and has all the best toys for our kiddos. KA feels like a breath of fresh air.
They have embraced our son with open arms which has been particularly significant for us, given his medical complexities and global developmental delays.
The teachers in his room are not just educators; they are truly wonderful, caring individuals. The open-door policy with parents, encouragement to join therapy sessions (he receives outside therapy through EI), and the overall communication through the app have made us feel intimately connected to our son’s day-to-day experiences. The teachers’ knowledge, kindness, and patience have played a pivotal role in our son’s positive development.
The intentionality behind every activity, geared towards building skills and development, is something we deeply appreciate. The updates, pictures, and detailed descriptions of the day’s activities through the app have provided us with a sense of inclusion and reassurance.
Moreover, with our newborn now also at KA, we are confident that he is receiving the absolute best care, allowing me to return to work with peace of mind.
It’s not just the exceptional care for the children that sets KA apart; it’s the way they care for parents and the community. Various celebrations for KA families, along with your efforts in facilitating food and toy drives for local organizations, reflect your commitment to creating a warm and supportive community.
Kiddie Academy has truly been a huge blessing for our family, and we are grateful for the hard work and compassion demonstrated by your team every day. We are always greeted with big smiles and friendly hellos. It’s a wonderful way to start each day and know that our children are not only loved and cared for but that they are learning so much. Thank you for going above and beyond in countless ways!
States this place is a nurturing environment, guiding and cultivating your child’s development. It is not.

Chaos.

I picked this school to begin with for my son’s summer so he can enjoy making new friends during summer and socialize and hoping for teachers to help him prepare for kindergarten.

In the beginning my son started with this one teacher who ended up leaving. Why did she leave? She didn’t feel appreciated as a person and teacher and felt wasn’t recognized for her hard work. I’ve walked into her room and all her kids were well behaved and there was no chaos. No screaming, yelling, crying, fighting. It was peaceful.

Walking into the other rooms where my son was put in before care and after care totally different vibe and I understand it is free play for the kids. But just cause it is free play, doesn’t give a right for the kids to do whatever they want and not watch what’s going on in the classroom. I’ve walked into those rooms and I can’t even hear myself. I’ve seen a girl yelling at kids faces in anger. I pointed it out to teacher and all she did was yell across room to stop. One teacher pulling the kids arm crying instead of comforting the poor kid. I’ve heard stories from my son like a girl putting wipes in her mouth and playing with pee in toilet with cup? A kid slapping my son hand and didn’t acknowledge my son just told other kid we don’t slap. He’s been scratched all over his face and left a bite mark bruised on his leg. I was told low key she came from a foster home but doesn’t mean what happened is ok! All I got was just sorry….I can go on and on. I’ve been told my son has been BAD after this morning teacher left who I was happy with. He is not bad. Maybe he feels unsafe! There just needs to be more high good educated teachers at this place who know what they are doing! I feel this is more of a baby school as I see more reviews about babies!

LOOK ELSEWHERE. If I could give them a 0 I would. They are Very unorganized, they lost my child sensitive application, the director of the daycare missed spots to fill and sign on the child care application. I have been trying to get my child in kiddie academy since August and all I got was a runaround and an incomplete application. Action for children was missing pages of the submitted application, and instead of fixing it right away and faxing it they always require for me to stop in for whatever reason, it was annoying. I gave them all the information they needed. I go to school and action for children has my school information they just needed a complete application from the director of the daycare but the uncanny director couldn’t comprehend that she just needed to fax over the missing parts of the application they no longer needed my school information. Anytime I called to complain the director had a subtle attitude. On the THIRD AFC application, I sat face to face with the director to complete my application thinking ok this is it and jokes on me it was still incomplete and she made the comment that’s your business not mine after telling her an issue I was having. Please get a new director and hire professionals who know what they are doing and make it stick. When parents submit applications it is time sensitive with personal information, my child application was mishandled multiple times. The director is uneducated, impatient, argumentative, and money hungry! INVEST YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE !
