My three children have attended Stepping Stones Nursery School and Preschool in Logan Square for nearly two years. I couldn’t be happier with the care they receive. Stepping Stones truly embraces a nature and play based philosophy. Rain or shine my children get ample time to explore the outdoors, and caring adults are by their side ready to highlight all the wonderful things we can learn when playing with friends or digging in the mud.
The teaching team at Stepping Stones is outstanding. I can count on frequent communication, and the environment is clam, organized, and always set-up to facilitate new exploring. Additionally, the teachers excel at giving each child what they need. Whether its a quick cuddle, a little space, or engaging a kid with a new task, they know how to welcome students into the learning. I never feel guilty as I head off to work. Because of the Stepping Stones team, I know my kids will spend their day enjoying the best things in life – nature, good food, good books, and good friends. I’m so grateful.
We appreciate the inclusive, caring, welcoming, and personalized environment SSNS offers! We had child 1 who was in SSNS from 2yrs to 5yrs (in the oldest class now!), as well as child 2 from 3mo to 2.5yrs. As such, we’ve had kids in ALL class levels and had amazing experiences across the board. We also were fortunate to have been with SSNS pre-pandemic and through it/still attending and – while current state is different than it was – the level of intentionality and care has not waned in any way. We’ve seen amazing academic and social growth for both of our kiddos and really appreciate connecting with parents/families and the teachers to truly feel part of this community. Also a fan of SSNS including parent voice in decision-making and transparency in processes and practices of the school and lessons with kiddos. This team is like family. They helped to sculpt our son in the way every parent want’s to see. I trust their team, decisions and methods and if we didn’t move, we would have never left. They use a great app that allows the parents to see what their kids are up to via pictures, messages from the teachers and allows for seamless communication w/ the Stepping Stones team. I was always blown away by the activities they did with the kids and the growth we consistently saw in our son. Stepping Stones is an absolute gem and we will dearly miss having our son go there. Thank you so much for everything you’ve done for our little guy, we honestly can’t thank you enough!
