I have two children that have attended Clark Creek since it opened, my youngest is in Kindergarten now and I think new parents don’t understand that the strict car rider rules are in place for the safety of all the children and the smooth operation of a very busy car pool line.

Every morning that parents park and walk their kids across the carpool line to the entrance, the car pool line is disrupted and you are introducing foot traffic that drivers are not looking out for (even though they should, but that isn’t saying much). Distracted drivers are everywhere and the carpool line is no exception. This is also why children should exit on the right hand side of the car, towards the curb. I’ve seen many parents over the years let children out on the left hand side, into the road and have them run around the front or back of a car. This just isn’t safe and I appreciate the strict car rider staff members and the fact that safety has always been a top priority for Clark Creek and Dr. J.

I also appreciate that Clark Creek doesn’t let parents just walk in to the school or up to the front door past staff, I don’t want unaccounted for people inside the school at anytime. This opens the door for bad things to happen. I appreciate the well communicated safety policies in place at Clark Creek and I always feel my children are safe, and that should be a top priority for all schools.

In addition, if they allowed all of the cars in the afternoon pickup line to sit there while the children got their seat belts on, the line would take 3 times as long. The parking lot is huge and I see no issue pulling up out of the way to get your child buckled in their seat.

Clark Creek staff and Dr J are the best!

They are really unwelcoming to the parents and they make it clear that the moment your child’s toe touches the pavement that you are no longer a parent and they take over. One lady scolded (raised her voice) for holding my hand and walking her to the school door (just the outside door) and said that “this stops tomorrow”. My Kindergartner went into hysterics when I left because she thought the lady meant that she would never see me again. My daughter has gone to daycare, so separation is not an issue, it’s they way they approach the kids and treat the parents like their presence is getting in the way of the school. They won’t even let you buckle your Kindergartner’s seat belt and they tell you that you have to drive to the parking lot, park, and buckle because they need to keep the car line moving. Safety is NOT their first concern, nor respecting the parent’s involvement, or my daughters feelings of well being. I have talked to friends who go to Baker and it is soooo not like that. Definitely take your kids to Baker Elementary, we are going to see if they have room for my daughter there.
Drove up to the front to drop my daughters off and they already had the front doors closed at 7:44. Literally just seen a teacher at the front door where they looked right at my children and shut the door!! So because of someone not being polite enough and/or watching the time, both my children were tardy! As they finally took 45 seconds to answer the door to allow them in.. the lady wouldn’t allow my kids to follow down the hallway to their class room. her knowing that the gentlemen teacher had just walked in! I’ve always in the past been told that as long as the kids are inside the hallways at 7:45 or in their classes they were NOT tardy!
