First of all, for those who are expecting this ACADEMY to be at the level of a Vidal Sassoon Salon, please. This is a teaching/learning facility, folks, so either save up your pennies and go to a “professional” salon, or use your little brains, make appointments, and accept that it is a teaching/learning environment and mistakes WILL happen.

My experience was excellent. My operator was, “Jennifer,” and she is preparing to graduate in about 3-4 weeks. She was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the products that she used. If there was a question, she did not hesitate to consult an instructor, and I heard other operators requesting the consultation of their instructors, constantly.

My hair is very, very long and Jennifer was able to spend her entire day doing foils and applying the most excellent toner to my hair. It looks FABULOUS. And, she enlisted the help of a fellow student (forgot her name, already) in combing out my hair.

Remember, folks……this is a teaching/learning facility. If you have unreasonable expectations, then you need to reconsider spending more money somewhere else. If you understand and accept that hair will grow back and catastrophic errors are generally rare, then you won’t be disappointed. Maintaining a reasonable understanding of the paradigm will allow you to enjoy these lively and passionate students and give them the practice and experience that they need to meet the State requirements.

I hope to follow Jennifer wherever she goes, and I appreciate Arthur’s Beauty College’s staff and students, very much. Thanks for the wonderful experience and astounding results!

I am from Conway, my mother is a well known stylist and business (salon) owner in Conway of nearly 30 years. I went to cosmetology school in North Carolina, as that is where my husband was stationed in the Marine Corps. We moved back to Conway and I had 1 month left of school to finish. I spoke with the owner and of the school and showed him all of my credentials (hours completed, test grades, my attendance, etc.)and he proceeded to tel me he would not allow me to transfer to his school because he “was not confident I would pass the boards.” Therefore, I had to drive all the way to Geyer Springs everyday to continue my education. Fast forward, I passed my boards, not to mention, on the first try.
I do not recommend attending this school, as they are not fair and do not treat people with equality. You would think as a military wife they would have worked with me , as moving is out of our control.
I will NEVER go back. The trainees all seemed to not actually be trained. They didn’t listen and didn’t know how to do what I was asking. Then the professional did something that I didn’t ask for. Now I hate my hair. I also asked for an eyebrow wax and that was no good. After a week they were still itchy. Everything I asked for was something simple, but couldn’t get done by them. DO NOT GO!
