The only good thing about this school are the class sizes. The teachers can’t handle the smallest of situations, such as a child “shuffling papers”. They inappropriately use their school Facebook page to post random pseudo-scientific garbage instead of important school information. Many of the teachers are abusive to children, calling them names such as “dorks”, telling children that other students aren’t “cool”, yelling inappropriately at children for being children, among other things. The administration has no respect for parents, the law, or their legal limitations outside their grounds. Finally, once I did transfer my children to another school, as many parents have this year, they took the liberty to call the new school and tell them that my children were behind and had behavioral issues. Granted, one of my children is a little behind on reading and has ADHD, but his behavior is no different than any other child with this condition, and he is usually very well behaved despite it. The school was just unable/unwilling to spend the smallest amount of effort to try to adjust to help him the way he needed. Besides the small class sizes, the one other good thing was the secretary/front desk lady. She was very kind to everyone, exceptionally helpful, and the bright point of a very bad situation.
I want to put five stars, but, there are some things I don’t like about this school. I don’t like that their school breakfasts and lunches are small. But they made them a little bit bigger. But you can only get ONE breakfast meal per day. And now you can’t get thirds for lunch anymore! I also don’t like that they open the doors at 7:35 AM OUT lader, letting the kids stay outside and teachers are inside. And in most days, you have to go outside in the cold after your breakfast! No Fair! Also, the school is dirty but Mr. Green always cleans it up! Mrs. Hausman, my teacher is very nice and answered me some movie questions like “Have you seen Titanic?” or “Do you like Zootopia?” or others. But I really like Mr. Evans: best class. Honors America and loves nature. I’m in 5th grade, Ethan Hardy. And that’s all I can say.
School is alright, most of the staff very personable. All and all better then district 2 any day. Mr. Evan’s the sixth grade teacher is a complete douche. If you send your kids to this school I would pull them out b4 they hit sixth grade. My kids can’t stand him nor can I. The school is average on curriculum but does have some perks. All in all it’s a ok school. Mr. Evan’s is just a child hating douche bag
