Teacher couldn’t find my kindergarten student on the first day of school and acted like it was my child fault. Principal handled it well and switched my child’s teacher. I still think that the teacher should have been fired for losing a student. Also, we never received an apology from her. Moving on, My 3rd grade student is so far behind it will be a miracle if he gets to go on to 4th grade. There is no real homework assigned, and the teacher never corrected spelling mistakes. Now he is relearning the correct way to do things. There are better schools in the Colorado Springs area that care about your children’s success. Military families need to think long and hard about where their children will be at in school when you PCS or move back to your home of record.
This school is an huge disappointment, to say the least. A small handful of the teachers are very nice, but the rest of the faculty members are just straight up rude. The children were yelled at if they were talking (even quietly) in the lunch room, and the PE teacher yelled at my child to stop crying when she was hit in the face with a basketball. They get one 10 minute recess after lunch (assuming they behaved well and didn’t lose it). Reading logs are the only homework. I transferred my kids to FFC district 8 and the school and faculty are all amazing. My kids are finally starting to get on track for their grade level.
The 4 stars are for My kids teacher and immediate faculty ive had interactions with. The school itself is always clean and they try to put on family nights and activities for the kids , which I appreciate. My daughter absolutely loves her kindergarten teacher and has been a huge help getting her on track.

Some of the staff on the other hand could use an attitude adjustment or just not work at an elementary school all together , maybe realize they are dealing with small children and not adults in the way that they speak and handle certain situations.
