I have been attending Duane Daniels’ Actor’s Workhouse for about a year now. I have some experience as an actor in the Valley, attended school for my Associates in Arts, and have attended workshops, mentors’ presentations and sessions/classes, and I am constantly searching for new and innovative ways to improve my skill and understanding of being “real”, believable as an actor. I also need to keep involved in acting classes/workshops to have a link to acting and theatre in some form and especially during the last year. With Duane’s workshop sessions at Actors Workhouse I have stepped into a brilliant introduction and technique to become a better actor and more confident. Duane’s patience, arrows, guidance, knowledge, humor, and passion for the Art of Acting is infectious and smart and I can honestly say I have grown as an actor in the last year. Recently in a production, one of my friends who has seen me in productions said “You were SO real and different this time”. It was one of the best compliments I have received. I hope to go to Duane’s classes for years to continue to improve, learn and find the little treasures of info I have received along the way in taking Duane’s classes. I highly, highly recommend Actor’s Workhouse to all actors, others who want to improve their communication style and confidence, and also those who would like to visit one of his workshops as a possible step into acting.
I enthusiastically endorse Duane Daniels as an acting coach. I have been a stage actor off and on for 45 years, but I always seem to learn something new in Duane’s classes. He doesn’t let me get away with my “tried and true” stuff. His coaching is all about eliciting truth from the actor with such counterintuitive nuggets as “The only way you can’t say the line is the way you know you’re going to say it,” or “Don’t do it good.” I look forward to applying Duane’s “method” when I resume performing this fall and have little doubt it will breathe new life into my work.
It is my pleasure to recommend Duane as an acting coaching and teacher. He has such knowledge and professionalism and really encourages students to achieve their best. I have been taking classes for over a year and can apply what I have learned to my career as a public speaker, instructor and professional in the corporate world. I highly recommend him and his services!
