I had a very detailed telephone conversation with Trevor Twist prior to signing up for what I was told would be a classical oil painting class. I spent an entire night sitting in a hard chair with absolutely no instruction because it was a beginner class and the “teacher” didnt attempt to work with me at all. He also did no demonstration at al . He bounced from chair to chair giving everyone else “advice” on thier pieces with no real demonstration of how to applicate. When I asked for my money back so I could put it towards a real class I was offered a “private lesson ” which I did not want and then he just cut contact. He could at least let me know when it would be appropriate to pick up my $40 canvas that got left at the studio. Very unprofessional, oversold the class and lied about the content. And another woman sat in class drawing all night to see how she liked it without paying a cent! $200 down the drain.
Great place for all degrees of experience. Brandon’s class is terrific. His teaching and techniques are easy to follow and he gives great input and advice. The atmosphere is very good as well.
Stellar faculty, lovely facility, favorite place. World renowned artists. Small class size and individualized instruction. The annual show is a treasure trove of amazing and affordable art.
