A hidden gem in the heart of Brighton! I moved my family out of the local primary school into St James and am so happy with this decision.
What you get at st James is a private school experience without the $$$. Children are from a range of religious and non-religious backgrounds.
The smaller class sizes ensure that no child slips through the cracks academically- and there are onsite speech pathologist and occupational therapists assist learning.
However, it’s the community that really makes St James special.
My daughter loves school and learning as a result of this beautiful little learning hub. I only wish I’d moved her brothers from the over-crowded, under-resourced local primary school sooner.
An absolute gem of a school in the heart of Brighton. The teachers are incredible, with deep expertise and a commitment to ensuring each child thrives . The recently renovated learning spaces are first class and feel more like a modern tech office than the classrooms we knew as kids !!
The parent community is simply awesome & a huge asset to the overall primary school experience .
Our kids have thoroughly enjoyed their time at St James and we’ll be forever grateful for the learning foundations they have gained here.
Amazing school, highly recommend. We moved our kids from the local primary school and haven’t looked back.
I spent seven years at this school as a young child, and although my time at this school ended several years ago, the negative experiences I had here have stuck with me. I found that teachers could be inconsiderate towards students who were struggling, and were overall unequipped to deal with the common hurdles minority students might face socially and academically. I always loved learning as a young child and performed well but I was often othered by fellow students and many teacher’s attitudes were to either ignore this or reinforce and validate other student’s treatment and misconceptions. I feel that the education provided here was inadequate, and deeply regret that some of my most formative years were spent here.
Fantastic school, so happy to send my three children here. Highly recommend!
