Now I can’t speak for the school today, But as alumni class of 2004 I could not say anything horriable ( out side of some kids) about this school. I loved this school and all the time I spent there. The teachers were there for the students and pushed us to be more. Some of the people I’ve seen write reviews here talk about how bad the school looks, well what do you expect its getting older also these people may not know what a title 1 school looks like.
When I went back to Gaithersburg for a trip I drove by the school, I didn’t even recognize it. There is a fence around it which may have been a decision made by the school later due to what happened in 2001-2002 when a girl lost her life at north west during crossing the road. That was a horriable event that lead to the north west placing a fence on the property. I would love to put my child into QOHS, but I live in PA. Teacher and other staff have changed. Music teachers left that made the school beter, I’m sure other great teacher did also. So give it a chance.
Frankly. it’s personal preference. This school is better than most but, as a sophomore of class 2020. Yeah no… I’m sort of surprised at how little this school seems to care. Not only that its hard to feel wanted when the school is overcrowded as hell. Part of me is like, “why the heck am I making a review of a school that I’m going to for 2 more years?” And then the other part of me realizes that I just really really really hate myself and I want to vent to something or someone even if they aren’t really listening. Because the councilors don’t do anything :))))))
As a former student, I’ll admit, it had it’s ups and downs, but overall, this school is great. I was never in any clubs, but I can assure you the teachers and staff are friendly, and of all things, that was the biggest thing I noticed as a new student.
