This school is trash, very strict and all the Dean’s were rude. As someone who used to come here from 7-8th grade I have to say I was really glad to leave this place. Someone seriously needs to tell this school what they really should be doing, which is not having a fuss over dress code, but instead focusing on the education they claim to be teaching. In truth, this school sometimes teaches lessons that are taught better in public schools or other charter schools. The rules were very strict, and at times caused me and my parents lots of trouble due to how overcomplicated they are. Ask any student in the school, they all secretly talk about how much they hate it here. Also the options for electives are small, and there are some leaks in the middle school cafeterias roof. The school has a horrible lunch menu and it is actually very poor. The uniforms are all uncomfortable, and bugs are very frequent. And the restrooms are very dirty. Please for God’s sake, don’t send them here unless you want to give them a hard time during their already tough teen years. The only good thing about this school is that SOME of the teachers are nice, but just as many are mean. I did meet some really good friends at this school, and we all still complain about it even now. So yeah this school sucks and you should run away as fast as you can from it.
I’ve been here since seventh grade and before that I was in a public school, and honestly the public school with over 500 students is more organized than this. The administration tells the teachers nothing and expects them to be able to help us prepare for test when the teachers themselves know nothing about when it is or what is on it. None of the councilors help you with your schedule problems because they are never in they’re room, it doesn’t matter if you are completely failing they won’t help you. They treat their students like their puppets to make the school look better and try to brush things under the rug. Save yourself the headache and just enroll in a public school (or a different charter school chain). Just a clarification the star is not to the school but to the administration, I love my teachers and the students here the administrators just need to get their act together.
Weve had a great experience at Harmony! My daughter moved mid year and we were looking for a smaller school. We love her teachers and the staff at the school. The classrooms have less kids, better behavior, and more individualized learning. The schedule is block so there is more time spent learning core content. Tutorials are available on the same days each week and the teachers go above and beyond to help the students , as well as with keeping an open line of communication with parents. The student population is very diverse, ethnically and religiously, and we have found them to be very kind and inviting. Uniforms are required and help steer the focus towards academics. We are glad we made the switch to a charter school 🙂
