I highly recommend that every staff member in the school.and at the district level Google “Americans With Disabilities Act,” from 1990. We’ve all had 26 years to understand and comply with the rights of EVERY Special Needs student to have a “Fair and equal education.” Why then is my son who reads at a second grade level….thanks to Kumon Tutoring….thrown into electives SDC students can’t comprehend. Automotive is ridiculously hard and he’s give 4 page packets to complete at home without a TEXTBOOK; which he couldn’t read anyway. He has NOT ONE FRIEND. There must be some kindhearted teachers and students who could begin a “Best Buddy” or “Buddy” program. A simple ” Hello” or ” Want to sit with us,” will make a world of difference to EVERY student and staff member at Elsinore High. It’s called teaching empathy, much more important than any other lesson. I know from being a Special Education Teacher for 15 years until I took a different route in life and see that laws are followed; thus changing lives. That is my number one reason I’m now immersed in law school. FYI….THANK YOU GOD FOR THE CROSS COUNTRY TEAM & THE FEW AMAZING COACHES WHO HAVE INCLUDED MY SON. That’s “inclusion.” Google that too. You haven’t heard the end from this family and we have a wonder, experienced advocate trained as an attorney to fight this garbage of not providing a SINGLE elective any SDC student has a prayer of passing. I’m on my game and I see how he’s given extra credit that is obvious to a 3rd grader he has plagiarised; but given an A+ just to get him in and out! You’re failing everyone by producing these wonderful people into nonproductive members of society. See you soon!
I attended school here for 4 years. It’s not the best high-school ever, but I wouldn’t choose another. The students are getting really nice, the student body and sports programs are expedient. The coach’s generally care about each and every athlete. The teachers are willing to double the effort you put it, if you’re lazy they’ll fail you if you work for it you’ll pass which is what should be expected haha. I’m not sure why other people are giving a bad ‘rap’. I recommend taking electives, otherwise you won’t be able to get too much out of it.
My grandson played on the football team quarterback the coach is wonderful! So are my grandson teachers, except for his science teacher. He loves science his grade in science has been good, except for now.Other wise I give the school 4 stars. OMG reading some of the reviews from the students makes me wonder why the school is so crappy. I want to go for a day at the school and see for myself!
