I’m a currently now freshmen at this school and I can say it definitely went downhill coming from someone who has a former NYICE sibling and a current NYICE sibling who is leaving soon. This school has a major bullying problem and it often goes unnoticed because students don’t feel safe saying anything because more bullying will still happen, and if you defend yourself from said bullying and your looked at weird or crazy for sticking up for yourself against it (this is coming from someone who has experienced this). Not to mention the slurs thrown at students who have disabilities or IEPs which creates a safe place for bullying and ableism among students in upper and lower grades. I feel like if you don’t look or act a certain way people will make fun of you for no reason at all even if you haven’t talked or interacted with them minus like group projects. I would not recommend this school to like anyone at all in general and suggest looking for a different one.
i went here for 6th and 7th grade and then had to transfer out for 8th. the school is surrounded by music and art which is perfect for creative students who are still seeking out decent academic classes.

i’m reviewing this school with 3 stars because for someone who has an IEP ice is iffy with accommodating for it, but they try their best so i’ll give them that.

in terms of the social environment at ice, that’s why i had to transfer. it’s not as cliquey as most public schools but the school could definitely care way more about protecting students who were subjected to bullying.

favoritism is common here but that’s just the principal. if you go here you know exactly who i’m talking about. also favoritism for this one specific student. you also know who i’m talking about, O.

Amazing principal and staff! They genuinely care for all of the students. AP classes and high expectations for all. I can’t say enough good things about this school.
