I’ll start by saying, I was a long term sub at YMLA last school year (2017-2018) and I was welcomed by the administration every single day.. Melms is going to have this school on the right track soon. Too many parents complain on here well here’s my two cents…. The administration really does care about these boys, if they didn’t would they give them 10s of chances.. I will say I truly enjoy being around those boys at that school but the disrespect from them towards other staff is unreal, you parents always think someone has it out for your kid when in reality they really don’t.. teach y’all kids some manners, discipline them (Get that belt) otherwise you have nothing to complain about. It starts at home, you can’t expect the administration and teachers to raise and discipline your kids. I won’t be subbing much there this school year because I am going to use my Masters degree and flip into another career field but anytime I’m free I will always be at Kennedy trying to be a mentor and groom these boys because lord knows you parents aren’t doing a thing but complaining…. if you have a problem with how things are ran at YMLA come up to the school, get involved.. otherwise shut the hell up and continue dropping your kids off at school like it’s daycare… because at the end of the day it’s on y’all parents to raise your kids right and make sure they are respecting adults… and as for the racist towards white kids… please stop it with all of that.. again, the doors are always open at Kennedy.. go voice your frustrations in person and not online… keep up the good work YMLA staff I know y’all are doing all y’all can for these boys!!!
Pretty good school, teachers are really nice they give a lot of chances if you don’t turn in your work don’t trust the other people that have put bad comments about this school the John F. Kennedy school has changed a lot and I mean A LOT!! Since the last few years right now I’m going to 8th grade and I’m ready to start the year. I totally recommend putting your child in this school they prepare your child for a better education they prepare your child for high school, college, and even university!!!!! Also it’s a boy school now yeah the Kennedy school split into two schools one is for boys and the other one which is in another part of Grand Prairie is for girls they did this for a reason to not let both of the genders to be distracted by the other gender and it actually worked the school is way better now since the opposite sex have been moved I have also heard the principal from the girl school say they feel the same way.
My son have been attending this school for about 7months now. When he first started it was confusing (maybe due to his dyslexia).. Any who, after maybe two weeks he started to come home talking about how he loves his new school because it’s a little challenging than his last. ??best choice ever, he disliked school since kindergarten ??. My son is an A B Honor Roll Student & loves this school. The teachers are so freaking awesome, the counselors, social worker, front office staff, principal, assistant principal & etc has been nothing but spectacular to us. I could go on & on??. Thanks to this special village for treating my child as if it was their very no own. NO GOOD DEED GOES UNNOTICED YMLA! Because of you all he now wants to one day attend college.. Again, THANK YOU??
