I usually submit my review once I’ve completed a class in full, but I simply could not wait this place is so fantastic, its one of the best investments I’ve ever made! Billy and Lara are incredible people and this place is more than just a spot to get lessons. The adult acting class is a highlight of my week- I have made friends and each session I am blown away by how quickly my peers are advancing in skill (I seriously can’t stop smiling when watching everyone perform.) I am kicking myself I didn’t do this years ago, it’s shocking how amazing I feel since starting this class; I have more confidence, my speech is more clear, it has helped my anxiety, I have a deeper appreciation for actors & performers, and I feel like I have a truer connection between my body/voice and my mind- also most importantly I have SO MUCH FUN (I haven’t felt like this since I was a kid!)
Lara Morton is such an exceptional instructor- she is kind, funny, genuine, not afraid to give real feedback but in a way that is so beautifully constructive- she is a TRUE PROFESSIONAL- I’m not kidding she knows her stuff, her notes, tips and lessons are all nuggets of gold, every class my mind is blown (which is hard to do for me because I can be quite skeptical!)
Everything I have learned applies to my daily life and I will continue to remember forever, all thanks to Lara, Billy & everyone at New Haven Academy of Performing Arts.

At NHAOPA our daughter participates in their Musical Theatre program. Our experience has been they are well organized, highly communicative with parents and put on a fantastic show that gets the student body on the stage! The overall cost and value of the program is the best value by far. Compared with other programs, dollar for dollar it makes financial sense. Pair that with the combined caliber of professional experience; it’s a great deal. More importantly, Billy, Neil and the NHAOPA team are warm and incredibly welcoming, they really make us feel at home there. They are inclusive to all learning styles. They value and appreciate productive feedback and encourage parent involvement. We love it here!

New Haven Academy of Performing Arts has been the best choice I could ever have made for my daughter. P started taking classes at NHAOPA at the age of 7, this year at age 11 she moved up to middle school with an amazing sense of self and a great amount of confidence. The amazing instructors and staff at NHAOPA create such a loving, encouraging, supportive and FUN environment it’s hard to get the kids to leave for home at the end of the class. P started piano lessons this year and came home after her first lesson eager to practice and welcoming the challenge of a new skill. This place is truly magical and I’m so glad we found them!
