My 4 year old is pretty independent for his age and I never had troubles leaving him (school/daycare/playdate etc.).
At WNS summer camp he refused to stay. He would cry and hold on to me. He told me that the teacher is bad. I did not pay much attention to it, because I thought he just needs some time to adjust. But the day when my child left the camp 5 minutes after I dropped him off and came to the car (thankfully I was still in the car with my youngest) and nobody even noticed that he left, I realized that this is not a good place for small kids. He ran on the road with cars!! When I came back with him teacher made surprised face and acted like I just dropped him off and nothing happened!! Unprofessional!! As a mom I DO NOT recommend this place!!!!
We have loved our time with Wasatch Nature School so far. The teachers really care for our children and make sure they know they are so happy to see them! We appreciate the newsletters with book recommendations they send that align with what they are doing during the month and that we get pictures and communication from the teachers each day. From special events like the lantern festival or visits from Santa to daily activities like nature walks or dissecting owl pellets, it seems like there is always something special going on at WSN!
Our daughter has attended WNS for four years now and we love it! It develops a child’s confidence, resilience, and love of nature. The average child spends 7 minutes outside per day. Let your child be different! Teach them to love being outside. Great teachers at all levels. We’ve especially enjoyed the advanced nature study group and having her learn knife skills, fire building and other survival skills.
