This school is not at all what I thought it was. This school is not for children that may have a iep or sometimes needs the extra push or help As a lottery school this should not be the case. Please dont believe the talk about this school. The reasons why this school testing scores are so high is 1-because they put the children they feel will not pass the test down grades for example your child will be repeating a grade two three times where u will end up having a 9 year old and a 5 year old in the 1 st grade and 2- because they push out the ones that are to hard to teach or the ones they dont want too teach. With this school being a lottery school and with a school name like success academy their goal should be to try to make all students successful not just the students that dont need the extra help. Their answer should not be to put a student back a grade until they get it. The teachers work hard but this is not truly a successful school. They push out the students they dont want and they end up in zone schools then they try to compare themselves to public school to get money which is unfair. Its sad that they feel they are making a difference in Far Rockaway.
This school needs to change its name! This school is very disorganized and perpetuates lies to make it appear as the greatest school ever…but in reality its all a hoax! From the puppeteer principal, to the military-style expectations, to the bullying teachers, the exaggerated curriculum, the easily given suspensions, the overcrowded classrooms, the lack of recess, the misunderstanding of true child development, the high staff turnover rates, the lack of supervision, the cliques, the favoritism/nepotism, and the children who are unfairly targeted with false corrections for nonsense like not staring in a classmates face when they are taking FOREVER to formulate a sentence or not answering a question correctly. Guard your children! This place is run more like a business, NOT a school. If your child isnt robotic or programmable this is not the school for you. I hate the fact in this area, all of the schools are failing and Parents pretty much try this school as there are no other choices. Poor Far Rockaway, we have NO great schools!
this school is the worst place on earth, all the teachers are very disrespectful and the principle and assistant principle are VERY VERY disrespectful. They don’t give the students a chance to explain their side of the story. My younger sister go’s here and comes home everyday crying and saying that her teachers are being very discriminatory. The other student constantly bully her and call her names, Ex. The N slur, a rat, A cracker, Raggedy. ECT. They always make her feel out of place. This school is supposed to be Anti-Bullying! There is a elementary principle and a middle school principle. The elementary principle is very fake and not what she seems to be. And the Middle School Principle(s) both don’t care about nothing and do whatever they want. The assistant principle is very controlling and acts like a mother to kids. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE. I have left and my mom is taking her out too.
