Initially I was please with this school until mid/end year. But now…I feel this school is Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had a gun threat for several days before they advise parents to keeps kids home. My daughter’s teacher gave my daughter a B+ at end of school year, after she’s been getting all As alllll year long on her report cards. The same teacher who was extremely late in submitting grades, and losing students work. I emailed last week the principal and her teacher, NO RESPONSE!! I will be taking this up with the school district superintendent!! If you’re looking for better environment for your child to learn, don’t send them to OPPA. Everything just all bad there. Security staff was constantly picking at my daughter for no reason. She was questioned about someone in her family, security told her she was not in dress code, and she was. Some of the teachers seems to be jealous that my daughter had perfect grades, and very well behaved! My daughter is 11yo and has never missed an assignment, does all her work on her own. She said the work is too easy to not do, but also not challenging enough. She left elementary with all As never suspended. Get to oppa, still had a straight A record until her science teacher decided to give her a B+ because she cant find her work. They erroneously added something to her behavior section of her file, had to email and get that removed. They are very overworked teachers, understaffed, unorganized. When asked to look into things, Asst Principal Bonds never checked or got back in touch. They don’t like receiving emails, because its black/white, they rather call you instead(while im at work). My daughter will not be returning to OPS. We’re going to Troy!

Last but not least ms.ivany she was so funny and we always had party’s in her class we was lit she ate this year up. Anyways it was a decent year. TRUST ME you will be I’m & out this school year this year is going by fast it like a flash before your eye moment.
My daughter has attended this school for the last 2 years. They is a lack of communication between staff and the parents. The rules are inconsistent and they is way too much unsupervised classroom time. I had been receiving calls advising me that my child had not been completing assignments and talking too much during class time. How would they know if the staff is spending more time outside of the classroom while to students are left alone to do what they please. I requested to visit the school to attend classes with my daughter to get a better perspective of what goes on during the course of the school day and was ignored. I left several messages for the principal and the academic counselor with NO RESPONSE! When I called back to inquire about my messages the secretary advised me that at the middle school age, parents are not allowed to spend the day observing. Totally unacceptable. I have heard of schools begging for parental involvement, but obviously this school district is the opposite. This is disappointing to say the least!
