There was once a 5-year-old little girl. She was a sweet, quirky thing, well-behaved and sensitive, active and adventurous. She loved lizards, bugs, horses, and drawing more than anything. Her mom and dad were so excited for this little girl to start school, to see all she’d learn, and to learn all she’d become. However, the hopes and dreams these parents had for their little girl would not come to pass. After a short time in kindergarten, the little girl started getting poor conduct grades for “not paying attention”. The school set up the first conference and began to tell the parents how wrong their little girl was. The girl began coming home upset, stressed out, scared to go back, and claiming that her teacher hates her. The parents tried ADHD meds for the child. In 6 months, the little girl was on 4 different medicines. Upon taking the first dose, she was listless, glassy-eyed, and had sobbing episodes. She didn’t enjoy the critters and the horses and the drawing. The smiles went away. And she did no better in school.
This precious little girl is Emma, and she is mine.

In December 2014, we decided it was time for a change, and she started at ABC Montessori. Their love for children, interest in fostering the individuality of the children, and in the development of the child’s brain are immediately evident. The passion they have for the Montessori method is inspiring. They have restored our daughter’s motivation and joy for learning. Today, our daughter seeks answers. She explores. She is respectful. And she absolutely loves her school. There, she is a helper, a friend, a great student, loved and praised by her teachers, and extremely well-behaved. She sits down to her work daily and focuses on what needs to be done. She completes book reports and science fair projects. She knows things about culture and history. She reads “chapter books” and she has straight A’s!! She laughs and plays and does not want to be picked up at the end of the day. I have my little girl back!! For all of this I am thankful for the Montessori method. But even more so, I am eternally grateful for the careful, thoughtful planning, attention, and intuition of the ABC Montessori staff, and for their concern and care for the whole child. My daughter WILL be successful. In fact, she already is!

I went to this school, and I’m very upset to say that they have completely turned me homeschool until I graduate. Never want to go to another school again. First off, they didn’t even give me the chance to actually go there ( although my dad busted his hump to pay for it ) and told me that my first day id go and see how I liked it. My first day went great, the only thing I know I really shouldn’t have done was lay my head down (I had a migraine) the next day they told me I couldn’t even be in the classroom because I wasn’t caught up, yet my 5th grade sister and other newcomers where welcome instantly. So I felt very alienated. It came to my attention that the real reason they banned me from actually being in the classroom is because of some rumor about a vape being used behind the school, and that I ran off on the first day. Where this came from I hadn’t even known. Every time I would visit the school I didn’t feel welcome. So eventually I decided to switch to homeschool. On Wednesday I went to swim with the class once, I made usual conversation with everyone there trying to learn how to basically fit in. When I left, the teachers made claims that I had been “touchy” and made the guys there feel uncomfortable. Yet not once did I ever touch anyone. From the first day going there, they made it known they just didn’t like my presence. As a 16 year old trying to make a new life for herself after constant bullying and banter at public schools, I thought I would fit in at this place where “everyone fits in” guess I was wrong.

I was shopping around for a summer camp for Caleb this summer, and pulled up to this place. As I was preparing to get out, I saw six children, ranging in age from probably 5 to 12 or 13, taking trash out to the dumpster. Unsupervised by any visible adult. I easily could have picked up one or more and shoved them in my vehicle and driven off before any adult even knew. I just shut my door and left. EVEN if these were the children of the staff, they should not be outside, in the parking lot, throwing out trash, unsupervised. I pulled it up on maps, and uploaded a screen shot. The dumpster is at least 100 feet from the door. I added that photo this google page.

I decided to post this review after seeing a photo circulating of a bruised student circulating on Facebook. The poster claims to have a student enrolled there, and had given permission for one, 2-lick spanking, once. She claims the bruises (and a scratch to the neck) were the result of an unapproved spanking with a leather belt at ABC Montessori. I do not know if her claims are true or not.
