This is a terrific community-minded primary school. The teachers are great and I feel comfortable having sent our three kids there.
I left this school almost 2 years ago. I dont recommend it, I almost died at this school and they didnt contact anyone but my mother who was very busy at the time with work while my step dad and grandma were put down as emergency contacts. This school did nothing but make my fear of public speaking public and my self harm by talking about it to the class after i said not to, it was so humiliating to walk out of class having a breakdown because i was forced to speak up infront of the class. This school is extremely ableist and does not care about their students wellbeing, ableist in the way they publicly humiliate autistic and ADD students while they are breaking down. Yoshida sensei (yes i will be naming names.) was one of the worst, every single class i would cry because she would yell at me for no reason. It was abuse. Ms Allan (A teacher who no longer works there and moved back to New Zealand) would constantly embarrass me, she told the whole class about my self harm, made my panic attacks and breakdowns my fault and would yell at me for it. She also would make me tie up my hair everytime and made it a bigger deal than my work until I had to yell at her saying i was insecure of my ears and would feel horrible with my hair up. My primary school experience at Solway Primary School was absolute hell and I am so sorry for anyone who is going through or will go through this pain.
if your reading google reviews to diced were your boys or girls are going you mid but nice school my bro goes there a nd he is a sped. specail eduaction. like me <3 sewy huck my g dap me up boy all good
A great range of subjects! But a principal that is more concerned about long hair then good grades and bad students. If you have slightly long hair, she’ll get ya. Good teachers though, would recommend once the current principal leaves. Or not if you have short hair! Also has secret year 6 pool party and has even had dr Karl come in for the past 2 years! If you want your child to be educated well, and have short hair then come here! also teaches Japanese and science.
So far our experience is of a nurturing environment fo children, in a 5 Star sustainability rated school that gives support to families and has a strong community. Includes children from many socioeconomic and culture backgrounds, which in itself teaches tolerance and empathy. The LOTE language taught is Japanese.
